I would like to complain about the title of this thread. Surely it is simply making a statement which is agreed to be offensive?
The lack of any qualification, or a possibly a question mark following the statement, means it is being presented as fact - not argument.

Nah, if he'd said 'Homosexuality is a sin', then you'd have more cause for complaint - even then it'd be marginal IMHO. He/she's just making a statement which they then go on to discuss in the post.

I see nothing wrong with the thread title.
Although i don't get why you posted this thread? One would think that it is in retalliation for his post about your posts.

I disagree; the meaning of both statements basically equates to the same thing. It's not too much to ask that contentious statements are carefully worded or qualified.

There's things on the boards that offend someone out there all the time. Mods have previously ruled that just because someone happens to be offended it doesn't necessarily mean a statement or title needs to be changed. You'll have to wait for one of them to give official word, but hey. *shrugs*
The thread title is 'Homosexuality as a sin'. Granted, I can see how someone could be offended by that, but as it seems to be open discussion to be debated, what's the problem? Title implies 'discussion as to whether it is or isn't' with how it's worded. If you disagree, make your statements there and back them up - hopefully in a way that's flame-free and on topic would be my suggestion.
For myself, whether I agree with it or not, the title itself does not seem to be across-the-board 'offensive' enough to warrant a change. If someone were rude enough to put something like 'Fags are sinners', now THAT would be right out. And I'd hope they'd get slapped hard for it.
Does that help illustrate the difference at all?

No, could you explain it again but be even more patronising?
Anyway - debate isn't allowed in this forum - I was trying to make a wider point but I'll just shut up instead.
I don't know if any punishment was headed my way but I'm having a self-imposed break until I can behave myself.

I'm sorry you took that to be patronizing. Was trying to be helpful. Sod it. Just goes to show sometimes there just isn't pleasing anyone, and illustrates my previous point rather nicely. Grazie.

You're looking too deep into it. There's nothing wrong with someone having an opinion, but when it gets to be malicious, that's where we step in. A title such as "Homosexuals are going to hell" would be where we would probably step in, because that's trolling. The title of this thread is fine.
