Probably because Prae's was fully OOC, and the others were roleplayed.
Praetonia
17-10-2005, 19:05
Do you really want me to provide links to OOC threads on II that havent been locked (including ones made by you)?
As it stands, however, whichever moderator locked the thread (who, for a reason presumably known only to them, appears to want to remain anonymous) didnt even bother to give any explanation, so your post is nothing more than speculation.
I know, unless the thread is blatantly spam, I like mods to provide the reason why they lockify, movinate, or DEATimate threads.

As an aside, dont you think it's strange that forum mods are online and replying to other threads below this one in the same forum, but are ignoring this?

Quite.

Yes, they do that. I think they're waiting for the mod who locked it (considering that the thread was in II it could have been almost anybody, since there always seem to be about 15 mods in II and maybe 2 in any other forum at any given moment, due to the fact that most mods role-play on the side).

Crazy Girl, plan to give any examples or just throw around accusations? I don't buy it, I know almost everything that went on with his "fanclub", i.e the NSers who aren't afraid to state their opinions, and frankly, nothing happened that was irreperable.

someone got told to commit suicide
someone got called a whore, and an abused child
someone posted disgusting images on an offsite forum, calling several people names
someone mentioned people talking about slitting someone's throat.
A little childish, considering this is just a silly game.

Crazy Girl - Stay on topic or leave this thread. As much as I would love to rebutt your petty accusations this is neither the time nor the place.
Czardas - None of the mods RP actively on II. Euro and Fris do occassionally, but not much. All the other mods that RP do so in the NS forum.

Onto the topic at hand. I know it is OOC and many other OOC thread exist, but I think they're either linked to RP, or heavily RP related (input for weapons, planning, preperation, you name it) while this is general... OOC. It doesn't have a subject, mostly it's complaining and nagging about random things related to Hogs deletion and the departure of respected players.

CG, I don't have a "fanclub." These people don't follow me around like i'm Eminem like you think they do. In fact, everyone who thinks I have been deleted unjustly thinks that because that is their opinion, and as far as I remember, NationStates doesn't block out people's opinions unless they are direct flames on the NationStates/Jolt boards. I am not happy or unhappy with my "fanclub" as you liked to put it: And you believe me, my friends aren't the only ones that are doing sucking up here. There has been a general outrage amongst a group of RPers in International Incidents about these whole shenanigins and some are expressing it more eloquently and more politely (Point, Sarzonia) and some are more angry and flameful (Point, German New Guinea)
Even if I asked him to stop doing it it would make no effect.
For the record, I don't support flamings of people because they do what they think is right. And for the record, I also don't support whining to moderators on NationStates for actions on an off site forum. But since when what I have supported has ever mattered?

I have really really REALLY tried to keep out of this, but I have reached my limit of bile swallowing.
Hogsweat was deleted because he broke the rules, it has been well and truely explained in very plain language.
There is no argument left, the mods were right to do it, even though some of thme have even said that they weren't happy about doing it, because they liked him.
What are you lot doing?
Are you accepting the fact that he was deleated because there was no other choice?
No you're not, you are just starting thread after thread after thread attempting to justify yourselves and convince others that the Mods are conspiring against certain players and that you are all being victimised.
Guess what?
The thread that this thread was started over deserved, in my opinion, to be locked because it became yet another "The mods are crap" Fest.
Why don't the ones who are leaving actually get up and leave and have done with it?
After all actions speak louder than words.
Why don't the ones who are staying actually let everyone get on with what they are/were doing and just accept that what has been done will not be undone, that it has gone as high as it will and there will be no change in that?
Enough is enough.
Czardas - None of the mods RP actively on II. Euro and Fris do occassionally, but not much. All the other mods that RP do so in the NS forum.
Fris doesn't RP at all, I think. At least that's what he said on NSwiki.

Yeah, as I said before Crazy Girl - keep on topic or leave the thread. I really couldnt give a damn about who you dont like. This is a thread about a locked thread, and your comments (along with several others, but at least other people actually had a little of their posts on topic) add nothing. The same goes for Children of Valkyrja. Although this situation may have been indirectly caused by Hogsweat's deletion, it is not about Hogsweat's deletion.
Perhaps. But to be honest, I do mind it when this sort of crap happens to my thread.and There are threads that I request Unlocked (not mine that I started) but usually the mods wait for the mod who locked the thread, since that person can give reasons as well as offer either defence to his/her actions or a chance to correct what might be a mistake. Erksome as it must be, patience is actually the Player's friend. constant nagging about the locked thread or a demand for immediate action tends to result in a hasty judgment, and those tend not to favor the players.
Just a friendly word of advice.

Good god...I hate those kind of people who go about saying that people would do things while most likely never intending to do what they preach. If my ramblings were to incoherent, I'll sum what you said up in but a word: hypocrisy.
And why should he have to leave an RP forum based on an outmoded rule on gameplay, why shouldn't he be able to RP under Hogsweat but have a deleted nation? I don't see why he should be forced to cease RPing under a nation he's put alot of work into because he messed up on a gameplay related issue.

Kriegorgrad,

All the Pro-Hogsweat People: Ditto. It isnt helping.

You created a thread saying that you were leaving, yet you're still here posting in many threads, is the point that GMC is getting at, making the thread pointless in the first place because you didn't leave.
Hmm, just wondering (a question for the mods), I have heard that IC threads that ICly "mourns" the departure of these nations (including Hogsweat) are not permitted. Is this true?

Prae, just my tuppence here, but I believe GMC is saying that as it was a farewell thread without a farewell, and OOC, it had become spam. I would imagine this was NOT the intention, however this is what has happened.

As far as I know, they are permitted, just as long as they stick on topic instead of turning into an OOC-fest.
