A general question

This isn't a complaint or anything, I'm just wondering..

I don't know if it's a recent thing, but lately there's been a few threads about requesting opinions on dream nations (or nightmare nations mostly), as well as some threads about political idologies.

I notice the former have been banned outright, and the latter gets a somewhat chilly reception in NS General, so I'm wondering why?
I would've thought it was exactly the type of thing that particular forum was meant for, but perhaps I misunderstood something.

Please clarify when you have a moment.

I think it may simply come down to there being a glut of 'ideal nation' threads, and many people are sick of coming across many apparently identical threads at the same time. It's happened before, with similar type threads such as the "ask a [insert nationality here]" threads.

It's because 'copy-cat' threads are highly popular amongst a select few and overall piss off the majority who don't like those 'trend' threads.

Because Nationstates is where you can create your ideal nation :D

Copycat threads are frowned upon.
