I can understand the needsfor Mods in a FEW certain conditions, but seriously, what is the point in locking threads just because you guys don't like the topic? Take theUbercuntry thread, for example. Was is silly? YES Was is pointless? YES Were people enjoying themselves? YES

I just can't comprehend why threads get locked, just because some Mods decide they don't like them, yet I seen some completely pointless, idiotic threads with Mod after Mod posting in it.

Seriously, I'm asking a question here. What criteria is used to lock threads, and what purpose does it really serve?

Well there you go. You just answered yourself. It was judged to be a copycat of the "What my country would be like" threads, and it was locked by Melkor. If any sort of trend starts to take up a lot of space on the first page of any forum, we limit it. We don't lock threads if we don't like them. Hell, if that were true, I could have easily locked a bunch more threads that weren't to my liking, but we don't do that.
