If my brother and I both had the same first 3 sections of our IP address the same (xxx.xxx.xx) but were on different computers and therefore had the last three digits the same (xxx.xxx.xx.100 for one and xxx.xxx.xx.101 for the other), would we be in trouble for UN multiing?

We use other tools than IP addresses. If you are on separate computers (always!), you should be fine.
