Serious question: here, or the modcave?

Firstly:
1. Spam. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=445432)
2. I think this should be locked, as I can't see anything further of value coming of it. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=445394)
3. I really would appreciate an answer, if not any action. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=441939) Sorry for my impatience, but a glance over the proposal queue confirms that it would be a useful change. It is not mentioned as a banned coding suggestion.
My real point:
The forum mods - and game mods acting in a forum mod capacity - do a good job of keeping things ticking over in the mod forum, in terms of responding to simple 'lock/delete/flame/spam' etc. requests and reports. However: is it more useful to report these in #themodcave? I haven't previously done so (except when once so invited) because I regard the cave as something of a retreat for the mods, and don't wish to interrupt what is a private channel with minor gripes.
If there is a policy on this outlined, I have missed it: if not, then in simple terms, is it BETTER (it's probably quicker, but it might be more disruptive) to, where possible, report things in the cave? Or here?
I also appreciate not everyone is on NS IRC - clearly, I'm not suggesting there is any need for them to get it. I'm just talking in terms of those who do use IRC.

#themodcave was specifically created for you all to request our help.
We view both #themodcave and the Moderation forum equally. If someone chooses #themodcave or the Moderation forum, then that's their decision. Either way, its going to be looked at. Usually if the response needs to be dealt with as soon as possible, #themodcave would be your best bet, though there's the possibility of no active moderators there.
EDIT: I suppose its just a personal preference thing, but I do understand Fris' point of view. There isn't always going to be an active moderator in #themodcave, and every moderator will be able to check out the Moderation forum. So it's up to you to choose! :p

#themodcave is a private place to REPORT problems. We have another place where we DISCUSS problems. You will not be interrupting unless we're already talking with another player.
That said, there are often no active mods in the cave. I stay in there 24/7 for logging purposes (as do several others), but I don't have time (or ability - damn corporate firewalls!) to access IRC from the office. Combine that with the flakiness of the various Esper servers, multiplied by occasional flakiness in my own router and connection, and it's a less-than-perfect combination.
Rarely is there anything so time-sensitive that it threatens the game or the forums. Even porn-spammers are usually caught within minutes, or at most hours ... and no irreparable damage is done. Your best bet is to stick to the Mod forum for forum issues, and Getting Help for game issues.
Now, having written all that, I don't have time to check out your links. Oh well.
Edit: ... When mods collide, and with differeing perspectives ...

Thank you. That's fairly clear. And there's no hurry on the links - but it would be nice to get an answer some time.
EDIT: No, actually, it's good to have two different perspectives. I think from it I will take the interpretation that there is nothing wrong with reporting even minor - but necessary - issues in #themodcave, if I know mods are active on IRC at the time. And if not, the forum.
And yes, I'd assumed GHP requests/reports would always be filed there anyway, and not on #themodcave, as there are issues around accountability and so on.

I locked the 1st link, but I'm going to leave #2 and #3 to another moderator who knows more about those topics.

The point of the cave is to have a conversation rather than a simple statement. Forum and/or game questions are fine there. Frankly, I prefer GHRs and forum posts because it forces you to formulate your question in advance, rather than the typical rambling nonsense of an IRC conversation.
You WILL get a better and more cogent response when you allow us as much time as needed to add a forum post or complete a GHR task. If the question consists of multiple hypotheticals that build on each other, sometimes a cave visit will help you clarify your question to the point of being able to make a proper post. Other times, we'll tell you to file a GHR or post in the forums anyway.
Each has its advantages. Each has its disadvantages. Que sera, sera.

However, exceptionally complicated matters, or problems that require a lot of back and forth between Mod and player are often best handled in the Cave.
Just, please, have your thoughts together before going in. And try to use proper spelling and grammar, too. Nothing tempts me to pretend to be idling more than "can u help me plz?"

Dammit. Now I have to go get paper towels because I spit Wild Cherry Pepsi all over my monitor. I'm glad I'm not on my laptop.
It does make me happy that lazy typers annoy someone besides me. Misery loves company and all.
Just to stay on topic, thanks for all of you chiming in. It's good to learn a little bit about where to take what and when.
