Complaint About the Mods

CorpSac

Yes you read right im complaining about a mod, what one i dont know but here is my reason.

Some mod has for a reason Deleted my Sig leaving as you can see this:-

[At least pretend to follow the sig size limit rules, please - mod]

Now, my Sig contained not Pics, was within the size limit Jolt forums allows (or elce it wouldnt have fitted) and was in no way rude or Brakeing any rules i have seen.

I was given no warning, if i had and they pointed this rule out CLEARLY ON THE FORUM or if i had missed it by mistake some where i would quite happly changed it. But they didnt they just went ahead and changed it and that makes me sick (i would say violated but thats to strong of a word and dont really fit for a sig).

Until this rule is pointed out to me i am changeing my sig back to how it is if you dont like it tuff, if there is no CLEAR rule on this or if there was on the old forums and no mod could be bothered to place it here thats not my fault.

If there is a rule after i change it clearly ask me to change my sig and point this rule out dont just go into my account and change it, its rude and disrespectful.

Rule for sigs is that they need to be 8 regular sized lines or smaller, I've seen yours, it was at least twice that size.

He does have a point about Jolt and its limits however, and since he was capable of creating it in the first place, well there is the tell tale and often dangerous question as to the validity of the mods ruling…. ;)

No, he doesn't. NS rules apply as well as Jolt rules.

Signature Spam: Forum signatures give you space to include a few carefully selected links or quotes. Sigs are attached to every post, and must therefore conform to clutter-reducing rules. Maximum size should never exceed eight lines, including blank lines and quote lines. (A short quote takes up 5 lines - "quote", attribution line, two lines for the box, and one line for the quote). Large font sizes should be avoided and may be trimmed without warning. Posting forbidden links is not allowed. Jolt policy prohibits images in signatures as well, so don't try IMG tags.

Yes, but Corpsac was not breaking the Jolt formal policy, as far as I see it, the mods ruling is only an unofficial policy.

But hey, I could be utterly wrong.

Jolt also allows you to post spam, insult people, and so on. That doesn't make the NS rules any less official.

all i asked has been anwsered, but in my eyes if the Jolt allow it then how can the mods say it cant (unless its insulting etc).

Im not going to make a fuss but if i get the chance i will just ask a Jolt Mod/Admin to see what they say but till then i will stick to the "mod Rule"

Now, my Sig contained not Pics, was within the size limit Jolt forums allows (or elce it wouldnt have fitted) and was in no way rude or Brakeing any rules i have seen.Irrelevent. Sigs can't contain pictures, and we have our own rules that you have to follow.

I was given no warning, if i had and they pointed this rule out CLEARLY ON THE FORUMIgnorance of the rules is not an excuse. They're all in one convenient spot. Go read them.

But they didnt they just went ahead and changed it and that makes me sick (i would say violated but thats to strong of a word and dont really fit for a sig).Yeah, we can do that.

Until this rule is pointed out to me i am changeing my sig back to how it is if you dont like it tuff, if there is no CLEAR rule on this or if there was on the old forums and no mod could be bothered to place it here thats not my fault.Do that and you'll find yourself facing much more than a changed sig. You don't get to make demands or issue ultimatums here.

Edit: Im not going to make a fuss but if i get the chance i will just ask a Jolt Mod/Admin to see what they say but till then i will stick to the "mod Rule"Jolt does not police our forums.

TMGH no shit you can go into a persons account and change things not need to be sarcy about it and shitty.

What would have been nice tho is if the mod who did it didnt post a Stupid shittly comment in my sig, but i dont know, did what ive done and deleted the bottom half, left the top and put a small comment of i dont know "had to shrink you sig larger then NS rules -mod". Not a shitty "could you pretend to follow the Sig limit rule", its not hard thing to ask.

And to your "Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse" no shit, but im sorry for being dyslexic and missed it even befor i posted this thread i looked at the rules.

Infact it took a normal person to do as i asked, "Until this rule is pointed out" bit without being a shit about it.

CorpSac, can I suggest you not flame mods in moderation? (And in fact 'anyone' in 'anywhere'.) If you have a genuine complaint, then use the appropriate channels.

And, I'm sorry for your dyslexia, but 'ignorance is no excuse', rather than being 'shit', is the rule. It's the only fair way to govern forums: they have clearly presented the rules, and cannot be held accountable for your not reading them.

If you disagree with this policy, I suggest stating your case in a more civil manner, perhaps in the 'Comments on the [OSRS]' thread.

You've been here for over a year...You should know that mod rulings are most definitely official policy. Max owns NS, they do work for Max and enforce his rules.

All mod rulings on the NS forums are official NS-forum policy; NS mods just can't make rulings on the other Jolt forums. The fact we have the power to enforce our rulings means they are most certainly not an 'unofficial policy.'

but im sorry for being dyslexic and missed it even befor i posted this thread i looked at the rules.

Dyslexia is not an excuse for having a sig over a page long. The most basic understanding of netiquette would tell you that having a sig the same length or longer than most of your posts is disruptive to the threads you post in and disrespectful to other players.

While his sig may have been to long, is there any other way you could have informed him(like a pm, i am not very familar with these boards, far to obnoxious a posters)....That would have been better than making him look stupid....

In looking at his responses, it doesn't seem he needs any help with that. Look. They edited the sig. Big deal. It's the most efficient way of giving someone a 'heads up'. Frankly, if you don't have the sense to see that your sig takes up more space than your posts and is irritating at best, looking a little foolish isn't likely to have that great an impact anyway.

I swear some people are acting like they went out and shot his puppy or something. It's a stupid sig on a free, moderated, online forum. Get over it.

I've posted a few times to tell him to change his sig, and that it was 3 times the limit. The sig wasn't changed.

Ahh, well so he was given the warning to change it....
I don't see what the problem is if that is the case...

Not for regular players like us. :(

I've certainly never been able to send a PM on this forum. I checked all through my profile and there doesn't seem to be an option for it.

Oddly enough, yes, the normal every-day player does have an easy message option. It's called the Telegram, and you can access it from your nation page.

Not attached with the forums, no, but an easy way to send a note.
