Can't rejoin UN

I've pressed the "join" button multiple times, changed my email address, and checked my spam folders regularly. But since my resurection a couple of months ago, I just can't seem to get back into the UN. Please Help. My Nation's name is AlkebuLan.

Thanks for the quick response, Frisbeeteria. I've changed to a hotmail account, but still haven't received a confirmation.

Yahoo and Gmail have consistently proven to be the most reliable web-based freemail services for NationStates mail. You might want to try one of them instead.
AOL is consistently the worst, with Hotmail not far behind. This isn't opinion*, but statistics.
* (The fact that it exactly coincides with my opinion is most likely irrelevant.)

Just as a bit of trivia, the reason AOL is so horrible is because all their stuff uses a proprietary protocol that needs to be run back and forth through filters to reach the rest of the Internet.

Sure, Fris. :p

Okay. Doesn't the system automate a telegram simultaniously with the email though? I haven't received one beyond the very first time I reapplied months ago. So I wonder if my request is being processed at all. Is there anyway to find out?

Also, when AOL puts something in the spam folder, people dont know it is there or how to access the spam folder.

I don't remember if it's simultaneous or happens at update. Either way, if you haven't gotten the email in 24 hours, you're not going to. Apply again.

Okay, but that seems to be part of the my problem. I'm not receiving an email, which may be my email service. But I'm not receiving a telegram either, which seems to mean that the system isn't processing my request at all. I wonder if it's possible to know for sure which of the two problems it is, and if it's the latter, whether you guys can fix it.

I tried to send an e-mail to Alkebulan a couple of days ago on our off-site regional forum Lavinium (http://s3.invisionfree.com/lavinium). It bounced, with the message "Inbox full". If it was going to his personal e-mail, could this be part of the problem? {If it was going to his Invisionfree control panel inbox, well, I guess that doesn't help. I don't know enough about the system to know how that works.)
I also sent him a TG through his nation's page. I haven't had a reply, but it was the jokey sort of TG that doesn't need one, so I don't know if his TGs are working.
I've had the same problem trying to e-mail individuals at a big business when they've been on holidays. A couple of them have been quite sure they had switched their e-mail to holiday mode, but their inboxes still filled up and refused messages.
(I am sorry if this screed causes techies to snort and raise their eyebrows, but please remember I didn't grow up with computers and I make mine work by burning incense, begging and percussive maintenance.)

There's nothing wrong with his TGs - he got your message. It's been so long since I applied for a UN nation that I don't recall a telegram - I only remember the email. Somebody who has applied recently (or often) could perhaps correct my ignorance.
We've got people joining the UN every few minutes. There's nothing wrong with our system.

Yesterday, before posting my 2.14pm note, I changed my email address to a yahoo account. I reapplied to the UN for the fifth time since the 21st. A few hours ago, I logged in and checked my UN page which said the UN had received my application and it was being processed. Before making this post, I revisited my UN page. The apply button was available again, but I've received no telegram confirming admittance -- as I did some 100 plus days ago when I first reapplied -- or email.
The yahoo account currently listed in the system is the fourth unique account I've supplied. The first email account was via the AOL ISP and presented no problems for my initial application to the UN upon first registering near November 2004.
If someone would be willing to send me an invite to a gmail account, I'd happily create a fifth email address. But given my past success with the original AOL account, and the recent switch to the yahoo account, I increasingly worry that the problem is not one that I can further address by myself, and that there is some peculiarity with my NS account.
Frisbeeteria, I greatly appreciate your help so far. If you believe there are no other means to investigate and address this problem, please forward this issue to other moderators or administrators who might be able to contribute.

I received both the telegram and private message. My offsite inbox read FULL after receipt of your PM, so, if you attempted to email me via the private messenger after the PM I received, perhaps the system was rejecting all notes via the private messenger whether email or plain PM. I've received all other via-offsite emails fine in the past.

Here its is
"Congratulations!
The United Nations is pleased to invite The Constitutional Monarchy of Maximallain Authority into our hallowed halls. An e-mail will be issued within the next few hours to the address you supplied: to confirm your acceptance of this great honor, simply follow the link it contains.
Note: occasionally an ISP thinks the UN e-mail is spam and blocks it. If you don't receive your e-mail within the next 24 hours, try changing your e-mail address to a different account (if possible) and re-applying."
Thats the telegram for the un

Telegram me your e-mail address, and I'll send you an invite for gmail. In the times that I've applied and re-applied to the UN, not once have I failed to receive the e-mail.

The Yahoo account should have worked, but I can tell you this with assurance. We are seeing a lot of AOL users complaining. I feel fairly confident in saying that AOL has decided that NS password resets are spam (by their definition), and they are not going through. Past experience is not a factor - I'd say this has happened in the last 2-3 weeks.
If anyone out there has received a password reset email to their AOL account in the last month, please mention it here. I'd like a bit of proof before taking it further.

I've already sent the invite out, so hopefully, this is taken care of.
