Happy Mod Appreciation day

A while back, it was suggested that sept 19 be mod appreciation day by several players who frequent the Mod Forums. So while I do realize that this is spam, I do ask the mods to keep this up at least for today. after that, then they can turn this into a pinata if they so desire.

Great work guys, keep it up and please enjoy this...

Btw... any memorable or humorous actions/situations you Mods remember? any funny stories?

Congrats to all the mods. Nice that we have a holiday to appreciate them. Especially considering how quickly Getting Help Requests are being processed these days... they certainly deserve some thanks.

Thanks to the Mods for putting up with our constant bickering and fighting. I think one of the most admirable qualities you have is that I'm still pretty much unaware of your political preferences; that's a major voucher for your impartiality. :)

I'm aware of the political leanings of a few of the mods, and I still consider them to be pretty impartial in terms of mod rulings, all conspiracy threads aside. I don't think any of them are unable to separate their personal posting from their moderator posting. Yay to that!

And I wouldn't feel safe here, or continue posting here anymore if there were no moderators, so....thanks!

and was it Neo Rogila who said she went on another forum more to her liking but hated the Mods there, so she came back?

Well, it says a lot when the only people who are made unwelcome by the mods are those who insist on breaking forum rules. From fundamentalist Chrisitans, to anarchists, to US-haters, to flag-wavers, to Nazis, to this, to that...NS is full of diversity, and it's in most part because the mods don't make a habit of banning people for their (even abhorent) political views...only for the rules they break when expressing those views.

Yeah Fass, my nose is brown...but really...what the heck am I going to gain from 'sucking up'?

Na. I like the diversity here. And I've already said why I think it exists.

The bullshit they go through is exactly why I don't want to be a Mod, so...

Happy Mod Appreciation Day! If I ever meet y'all IRL I'll buy ya a few drinks.

Hmm....if we were to go to a restaurant, I would have to get a few margaritas to loosen things up. After that, I could use a few shots of vodka to get things even more interesting. Then after I'm pretty much drunk, I'll have some beer (I don't have a preference really, the taste will be pretty much gone anyways) to spice up the rest of the night. Promise me that you'll drive me home though, ok? :p

I'd like to thank the moderators for their help and guidance and wish them well. My queries to them over the last year have been regarding in game rule breaking, spammers, offensive nation names/mottos & invader/defender scenarios etc and the Mods have invariably been helpful, even though some of their decisions haven't quite gone the way i'd have liked (the deletion of our successful invader point, Poopaholics, comes to mind :headbang: )

In fact, i'd willingly re-mortgage my home AND sell all my personal possessions to fund a well earned vacation in Hawaii for all the moderation staff - but only if they could resurrect the nation I deliberately killed off , Niall The First, and give it a new password ;) (act in haste, repent at leisure !!)

Oh, ok, I'll submit a getting help request ..... :)

But seriously, thanks for the help you have given me since I joined the game. It is appreciated.

One thing I really, really hate is having my core beliefs shaken -- such as my firm conviction that (a) reasonable people can work out anything and (b) everyone is basically, deep down inside, reasonable.

The fact that any of the mods seem to be able to hold on to either of these beliefs, despite the battering they take every day/hour/second, is beyond praise.

This uncharacteristically sombre response on my part is brought on by recent events in the original LGBT thread. Euro, in particular, I just don't know how you do that and then come back and do it again.

I mean, I've raised toddlers and I still couldn't do it!

Really, really sincere thanks.
