You didn't say anything

Euro, I have commented many times on how I really think you do a great job here, but one thing that always surprises me is when issues get ignored while a mod is actually in the thread.

He calls someone a jerk in the moderation thread. I know it doesn't really warrant a warning, but you were in the thread, couldn't you at least tell him to knock it off before it leads to more grievious behavior? I find that you are very good at correcting borderline behavior before it needs an official warning when reported. I find you very fair in this way. Why would you ignore borderline behavior in a thread you participate in?

And if you just missed it then I apologize. I know you guys aren't perfect. Mostly, this isn't about you. I've seen many times before when mods get so tangled up in a debate that they miss the rules-breaking that goes on (disclaimer: not you).

To be quite honest, I didn't even notice his post.

I suspected that was a possibility. I apologize if I sounded impatient. I really feel that one of the great benefits of you becoming a mod is the large effort you've undertaken of correcting rulebreaking early keeping the incidents of posters actually going of the deep end to a minimum. I know that other mods have done so in the past, but it seems you've redoubled those efforts while at the same time remaining very patient with the community as a whole, thus be an example of proper posting protocol yourself. This is why I chose to use an example of a thread you were in. Again, I'm sorry if it sounded unnecessarily harsh or impatient. It is not a reflection of my perception of the job the mods around here do.

You brought up a valid point and a post that I should have replied to earlier. Nothing wrong with that. I do appreciate your kind words. :)

Now if you were to have pulled the "OMG M0D B1AS" card, I probably wouldn't have liked that... ;)

But it is MOD B1AS. It's obvious that New Dutch America is puppet of the Dutch corporations that are coming and taking over NS. Their 'campaign donations' are buying a prejudice from mods that unfairly colors their actions and cause them to allow the forums to continually move toward a more dutchlike thinking. I'm on to you and you won't get away with it. *pounds fist into hand* Viva la revolution

First, moderation was not the place to continue the discussion of the original thread. Two, you are not allowed to call people names regardless of how deserving they might be. This is particularly the reason you never any of the names that go through my head regarding Carnivorous Lickers (it's too bad he'll never read this).

My point exactly. Besides, the moderation forum isn't the place to debate. Take it to General.

I don't think this actually works. I suspect the mods would be just as happy if not happier if they didn't reCOGnize my name.

PS. I'm going to start slipping mod names into all of my posts. I'm nEUROtic like that.

There's nothing wrong with posting in Moderation and Technical if you have something to contribute, such as answering a question or providing proof of rulebreaking, but from what I've seen, you only make comments on a lot of the threads, especially in Moderation, without actually contributing to it.

He calls someone a jerk in the moderation thread.

Calling someone a jerk is barely worthy of moderator attention unless a poster does it all the time. It's simply not a strong enough insult; the same has been established with occasional use of less endearing terms like 'idiot.'

Calling someone a jerk is not nice.

Calling someone a liar (in another moderation thread) is not nice.

Making off-topic, unhelpful comments in mod and tech threads that do not concern you is spam.

Continuing to do so after you have been asked by one moderator and told by another to stop is a very bad idea.

Please stop posting in moderation and technical unless you have a valid reason (that is, you have a problem you need help with).

Thank you.
