"Finally someone with half a brain."
Obvious flame-baiting.

"Hey intelligent thought is hard to find here, it needs to be pointed out when it does show."

Both comments can be irritating, and are quite borderline, but not actionable.

Well Euro, I gotta tell ya, you should pay attention to nearly every thread Mesa enters, becuase they all end the same way.
He borderline flames, and insults, but does little in the way of actual debate.
Then he turns around and accuses the person of doing the very same actions, just before he does it again.
Then he often sends nasty telegrams, such as the one he sent me recently.
Personally , Im sick and tired of this guy ruining every single thread he enters, just so he can be an argumentative hole.
If any action should be taken, it should be against Mes.

Heres just one example.
Statements like that really show you have nothing but weak minded attacks. Get something new please. The typical left wing talking point doesn't cut it anymore.

Thats just one example.
Theres lots more.

Theres lots more.Sadly, I'm not seeing it. He's disagreeing with what appears to be common consensus by posters within the thread, and responding to what he clearly perceives as personal attacks with significant restraint. He's not necessarily being nice about it, but neither is he flaming or baiting.
I've heard Moderators point out that this is the General forum you're talking about. People aren't always nice when they disagree. He hasn't been deliberately provocative ("half a brain" doesn't cut it) and there's nothing that I see worth acting on. My suggestion is to be a little less sensitive and help encourage productive debate rather than ad hominem attacks.
Standard Disclaimer: I am not a Moderator. I will never be a Moderator. That would be like handing me the keys to the harem and telling me to behave.

What the hell...
If Im going to go to all this trouble, I might as well give more than just one example.

See, thats the issue.
Hes not stupid.
He knows that to out and out flame someone with vulgar language is not tolerated, and would result in Mod action.
So, he uses attacks like the ones Ive been showing.
Further, and far more disturbing, is the sheer frequency of these posts.
He does this in EVERY thread he enters.
His intentions, it seems, are not even to engage in actual debate, but to turn every thread into an arguement like the examples above.
Its really sort of "Flame-trolling".

Well, Ive been hanging around in General since 2003.
But, who knows, maybe you have a point.

Its really sort of "Flame-trolling".At risk of being immodest, some folk are good at that. But beyond that, some folk use it when they perceive similar attacks against themselves, and some just seek out excuses to practice. Having browsed through the thread, I'm seeing more of the former than the latter. I think this fellow likes arguing a contrary position. Sooner or later people take umbrage to this. Personal attacks ensue. People start flaming or accusing each other of flaming. Then they run to the Moderators.
He might be trolling for conversations just like this, but he's kept himself within boundaries that I consider acceptable. He's using language that's fairly common throughout General and limiting the amount of abuse he doles out. It's up to the Moderators to decide how far is too far, but I think the best bet is to simply leave the Moderators out of it. It would certainly make their lives easier.
As I understand it, the goal of Moderation is not to sanitise the forums. The goal of Moderation is to encourage people to sanitise the forums by themselves. If you don't like what this guy says, add him to your ignore list. Don't respond to him, and eventually he'll go away. By coming to this site you are accepting responsibility for yourself as an adult. Contrary to what you see on Court TV, adults are supposed to look out for themselves and take care of their own problems in such a way that they don't become a detriment to the people around them. That means when someone offers you what you perceive as provocation, you can choose not to accept it. You can drop it and move on.
It takes practice, I admit. But it works wonders.
For those people who just can't resist letting fly with the burning and the flaming and the trolling, well...the Moderation staff has their hands full with them.

The funny thing is, he claims to have already put me on his ignore list, but has decided to instigate several tiffs like this one between us, since.
This was after he sent me a nasty telegram telling me I had "issues".
Now do you see why I tire of this?

If he's sending you abusive telegrams, report it to the Getting Help Page, and don't delete your telegram.
Treznor basically hit the whole situation on the nose.

Trust me BackwoodSquatches, I pay attention to Mesatecala's posts. He's been in trouble with Moderation multiple times, and continues to post in the same manner that he has before.

Excellent.
To be fair, the telegram was not "abusive".
There was no profanity used.
It merely said along the lines of "You should not spread lies about me. It seems you have issues with lashing out at people....etc."
I kept it..(until tonight, ironically enough) and sent a reply message telling him never to send me another telegram, for any reason.
To wich, in all fairness, he has not since.
