Some things just shouldnt be chattered about IMO. Perhaps, if it discussed the problems of suicide, or issues relating to Suicide... then it could be admissible. But to chatter idley about Suicide itself? Hm. I disagree. And besides, this thread opens itself up to all kind of terrible discussions coming out.

Suicide has been discussed on these forums before, though to be fair I'm not actually aware of the discussion of suicide methods. I personally think it's positive to talk about suicide - CW claims he's not contemplating it, but if he's even just thinking about it, better to bring it out in the open. At any rate, I don't think it's against any rule here - suicide is legal (at least here in the UK and Ireland), no one is flaming or anything (as yet, anyway) and there is actual discussion ensuing, so I don't think it's spam. I also don't see anyone actually explicitly encouraging the act, thankfully.

It's a sensitive and often painful subject, but I think it would be wrong to ban conversations of this nature. However, I obviously leave the decision in the capable hands of the mods :)

I didn't really mean to offend anybody, but what is the big difference between the suicide thread and the "How do you want to die?"-Thread?

Well, in a way, it DID discuss the problems of suicide...

Yes, could someone explain to me why was this thread locked?

Just because we don't respond to you within a few hours, doesn't mean you won't get a response. I personally have school and work that I have to deal with besides NS, so I don't have as much time to come on here as I used to.

I am not the moderator who locked this thread, but after reviewing it, despite the fact that you've stated that you wouldn't do any of the things you were discussing, there are a few comments made that contradict yourself:

Better safe than sorry...

And especially the way you response to other 'ideas' for a painless suicide here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9605086&postcount=14).

A discussion about suicide isn't against the rules, but a discussion on the ways that a specific person (Cabra West) could kill himself with the least amount of pain really isn't suggested here on these forums. The 'advice' given could potentially mess with those who might seriously be thinking about it.

I'm sorry, I can't point out irony every time I use it.

It had NOT been my intention to discuss ways how I could kill myself, but as this seemed to be assumed by most of the posters, I responded to it.
Actually, it was kind of inspired by the "How do you want to die?"-thread.

I guess I'll have to figure out a way to re-phrase that thread...
