It seems that OceanDrive2 doesn't like my opinion and rather than just insult it, he has decided it is better to say that I'm "pathetic" because of it.
Would the mods - notably Euroslavia (why didn't you warn him? He did it twice!), please tell him not to?

No, there isn't. It's all a case by case issue, also depending on the past post history of the person in question, and who it is directed towards.

Yeah, don't make it personal is the rule I'm following. Criticize the opinion, but don't insult the person for holding it and I think you'll be all right.

I agree with this as well. If they pointed out the flaws in my statement rather than being childish and calling names, I wouldn't've paid it any mind and continued to debate.
