Sounds to me like you were flamebaiting first and it looks like you were successful in bringing about that flame, but then I'm not a mod. Unless, of course, you were trying to compliment him with the D&D comment.

It wasnt a flame or a compliment. I'm actuall a big fan of D&D. It was mostly a joke, as it seems whenever people want to leave a discussion, they suddenly have a party to get ready for.

From the standpoint of the outside observer who doesn't know either of you, it appeared that you were insulting him. He obviously took it that way.
