Mod Rulebook?

Just curious as to where the mods get the rules from. My nation was deleted for a post that was "basically the same as"( ie. "If you fuck with the Marines, they will kill you") death threats without a warning, yet I've seen posts with blatant death threats get a warning first. Just curious, no offense intended. By the way, I'm not excusing my post, and I apologize for it.

An interesting question, SD. Do the Moderators have some sort "Standard Operating Procedure" Sticky in the Mod forum?

We have several sections devoted to moderating the forums and the game. Some go into significant detail, but there is not a single standard punishment for every single standard infraction ... because such a thing as a "standard infraction" does not exist. As is pointed out in The One-Stop Rules Shop: Please be aware that the following rules are not set in stone. Each case is different, and may be subject to conditions not readily apparent to the regular player. Consideration is given not just to the specific offense, but also the nation's (and in some cases, the player's) prior actions and infractions.
Without links to specific incidents and warnings, that's the best I can give you.

Actually, that was pretty helpful, although it leads me to wonder how the Moderators are vetted. Can anybody be a mod?

Take a look at that thread. Or a simpler explanation...my personal impression is that players are made Moderators only by the consensus of the current Moderation staff/Administrator(s). From what I've gleaned, they review your nations, the forum post history of those nations, make sure you know what the hell you're talking about when it comes to the rules, and make sure that you keep a cool head and can make appropriate decisions. Technical expertise also seems to help considerably.
