Huh? Why was my thread deleated?

Just logged in after a couple of days absence and found that GMC deleted my thread about names for sex organs.
Come on, naming ones privates parts seems to be common around the world, what was wrong with a thread discussing and sharing various names?
I didn't see where the thread went after the first few pages but there was nothing in what I saw that warrented his actions. Especially without explaination.
We can talk about sexuality and give advice on others sex lives but we can't share our pet names for our sex organs? What gives?
As far as I can remember, as soon as one of our threads on anything sexual started direct reference to anything graphic, they got closed rather quickly.
Also, pet names for private parts include a whole bunch of profanity, so I guess it has a whole lot more potential for offense.

The thread was about the specific name you give your own "private parts", none I saw included profanity.
Any Mods have a response to this serious inquiry. GMC, you deleted it, you have an explanation?

I'm surprised you need this explained to you.

Why? I've been on these boards for almost two years, I've seen worse accepted with no problem.
What I don't see is a consistant application of a uniform standard.
I'm just asking for an explanation, maybe the thread went south after I last checked it...I'd just like to have a reason given.

GMC, you deleted it, you have an explanation?
Um, you need this explained? Seriously?
What can't I post?
Any content that is:
* obscene
* illegal
* threatening
* malicious
* defamatory
* spam
I'd say a thread with dozens of crude nicknames for vaginas in the SECOND POST qualifies as 'obscene.'

Um, you need this explained? Seriously?
I'd say a thread with dozens of crude nicknames for vaginas in the SECOND POST qualifies as 'obscene.'Neaness' post didn't come until the second page (not the second post) and it wasn't in the spirit of the thread.
So your explanation is you deleted a thread because of the post of one hyjacker?
The topic was light hearted but not spam and obscenity is in the eye of the beholder.
Lame call GMC. You could have warned or deleted a post, you were a little quick on the trigger there Sundance.

Actually, no. We ultimately decide on what is obscene or not. Just because you don't think it is, doesn't make it ok. In my opinion, creating a thread for that sort of topic is asking to be deleted, seeing as it can easily promote obscene responses, which GMC Military Arms says had occurred. It deserved to be deleted.

I concur with my associates.
Discussions of sexual matters are only permitted if the discussions are political, clinical, and/or otherwise serious in nature. Discussing slang terms and nicknames for private parts falls into none of those categories and is inappropriate for NationStates.

Wow! This is so good formulated, can I use this sentence as rule in another discussionforum?

THE LOST PLANET, if you want this thread so bad, see if there are any areas in jolt proper that permit it... possibly the spam topic? I don't know though, I've never looked. Think about it, you'd get a much bigger responce as there are more jolt members than there are NS:jolt members.
