How many warnings do you get?

I'm just curious, because It's the first time I've been warned and so I'm not really familiar with this whole...thing... so yeah...that's my question.

I'm not a mod but I think the answer is however many times they feel like it, if at all.

You generally only get one warning which makes use of bolded text, mod sig, etc, and it usually makes it clear what happens the next time you do something stupid. You can however receive any number of gentle nudges which do not have that severity - they are intended to avoid the above-mentioned Voice of Mod warning. It pays to take the hints. ;)

I'm not a Mod, but I don't know if there is a set rule for that. I think Mods take a poster's history into account before deciding on deats or forum bans. Someone might get a deat if they've earned a "rap sheet" while another player might get a warning for the same offence if that player doesn't have a history of violations.

Can you get warnings removed if you go long enough without being naughty?

Can you get warnings removed if you go long enough without being naughty? Not a mod, but IIRC, I think the warnings stay on your record. However, I think the length of time between warnings is taken into account when mods look at a poster's history.

Every situation is, of necessity, different. There are minor nudges (of the knock it off!) kind which are not in themselves a problem, and aren't usually appended to the file. (Note -- get enough of these, and it's likely we'll note that.)

There are the "officially warned" warnings which are more serious and are appended to your nation's file.

There are some offenses that can get you immediately deleted (ie posting porn, making death threats).

All of these things are looked at in aggregate when we're deciding what to do about a nation's rulebreaking. If a nation has never been in trouble before, we'll usually cut it some more slack than, say, a nation run by someone who's had other nations deleted in the past for the same offenses.

Is there some way we can see the # of warnings we have appended to our nations file (and what they were for maybe)?

Liverbreath']You are just kidding right?

Why? Would it be strange to want to know something like that? I've had nudges to quit behavior before but can't remember if I've had official warnings and would like to know what's on my record.

...I know I'd like to know the status of an appeal I made regarding an official warning some months ago...
