Okay, I'm about to create a new puppet, I've answered a bunch of the questions and picked a flag, decided "Let's get ruling", clicked 'Check Name' just to be sure, and BAM! the word 'Reserved' pops up for the name. Drat. Double drat, as a matter of fact. It seems a deleted nation has been named the same name.

But wait....what if that nation was me?

This is a name I've wanted to use for a while now and might, in fact, have used it before. It's entirely possible that the previous nation was another puppet of mine. But, I can't remember for sure and I don't want to have the Mods resurrect it just to find out that I don't have the password. So, is there a way to know for sure?

I'm thinking a Mod could check the IP addresses for that nation and this one to see if they match, or some other way of identification if you've got one. Is it possible?

Oh, and I know that I haven't supplied the name of the other nation (Which the Mods will need to do this check) because, if this check isn't possible, I'll probably change the name slightly (Maybe add an adjective or something) and would like to keep my ownership of that nation a secret. I will, however, supply it if it turns out that this is possible.

If at one time it was yours, you can send a resurection request. If you dont remember the pass, but had the email on file, you can have a new password made (I believe).

And the best part of resurecting it if it was yours? You have it back to the way it was, rather than having a brand new nation!

It would probably be a lot easier for a mod just to resurrect it (and have you check to see if it was yours) than to have a mod compare IP Addresses to find out if it was yours for you. It's perfectly legal (although somewhat useless, I would think) to resurrect other people's nations for them.

Submit a GHP request. That will keep it private.

Kat, I just did submit a GHP, but it was as Jjuulliiaann said and for the nation to be revived. Like he said, it'd probably just be more work for you to go through the bother of checking IP's and whatnot, for me it's just five minutes typing in a few of the passwords I've used throughout my time here. We put you guys through enough on these forums, I'll at least try to not make more needless work for you.

You might want to check to see if it's rezzed already -- I personally do at least a dozen a day and there don't appear to be any in the queue at the moment.

We don't do that. There's always the possibility of that player coming back into the game, and wanting their nation back (even though its resurrected right now).

I would, but ever since that :twisted: smiley that we had on the Pre-Jolt forums went bye-bye it's just become to painful to look at the smiley box. It's an effort to just hold back the tears.
