I think that whole damn thread should be closed! Most of us pay money for goods, and this thread promotes criminal acts. Is it allowed to promote criminal acts on this forum?

She (or he) has done it again:

He tried to sugarcoat it.. but still the rhetoric on the quoted sources and the link still promotes shop-lifting.

The link does not encourage other people to shoplift. It describes the motives and methods of political shoplifters.

It says such acts are good and needed.

Oxwana took out the list of stores that were more likely to be stolen from, which was my main concern here. There seems to be nothing wrong with this version of the thread.

Can I tag on a subsidiary question? I've never quite been clear - although the General Rulings and so on seem straightforward, the interpretation of those has at times been more of a grey area - is promotion of illegal activity explicitly banned? So, for example, a thread condoning the use of controlled substances would be ok, but no encouragement to use them, or practical advice on how to obtain/use them, would be allowed? I know I've seen a ruling on this before, but I can't find it now, and anyway, it's sometimes difficult to tell from some of the threads in General that are allowed.

Each thread is basically a judgement call. If the thread promotes others to go out and commit illegal activity, we will not allow it to continue in this site. A discussion about illegal substances would be fine, but the encouragement of others into using illegal drugs, and how to obtain and use them wouldn't exactly fit here, and would probably be deleted or locked. Each thread is very sensitive, based on the information within the thread.

Thanks: that's what it seemed to be, but I just thought it was best to check before I posted the ad for my crack den.
