That poses an interesting question. His name is somewhat offensive. Can people get punished for having overly offensive names?

His nation name was not appropriate, and neither was his national animal, as ruled by Katganistan.

I can understand why he'd be concerned with the thread that he linked to, just because of the simple fact that someone may 'push it over the edge'. So far, the discussion is being kept in line, but I'm going to keep an eye on it to make sure that it does.

DOS is Deat on Sight. didn't matter what his name was. It could've been "Bunnies_and_flowers" and he/she would've still been deated.

... which is not inherently illegal on this site. There are any number of Nazi "roleplayers" who manage to be either civil (or just quiet), and they are as welcome as anyone to join the site, as long as they obey the rules Max laid down.

There are one or two players going around and posting to the effect that Max and the Mods should ban all racists and Nazis. I confess to being puzzled by this attitude. Isn't the core of the racist philosophy, "Get rid of all $hatedgroup"? How is "Get rid of all white supremecists and Nazis" a superior philosophy?

Max and [violet] have made it expressly clear over the years that they prefer debate to censorship. The mods agree with this, at least as far as enforcing the rules of the site. That's how it works now, and how it will continue to work until we get the word from higher up that policy has changed.

Thanks for explaining that, Fris. I'm personally very touchy when it comes to Nazism, because it's a big part of my history.
I've accepted the fact that some people are Nazi roleplayers, and though I don't like it, I can live with it. It's when people's names make historical references to people or the Nazi party itself that I get offended. And when such people start racist threads, I feel that they are no longer welcome (such as it was with the UNSDAP. Someone that attacks islam with his first thread and has the Nazi party's acronym scores rather low in my books. To me, naming yourself after the party is just as offensive as having a swastika in your flag). I personally don't think a "racist" can really "contribute" to a debate...
As for the "hated group" argument, the reason I feel my ideology is superior is because I don't want to get rid of anyone based on something they're born with but because of how they choose to behave.
I don't want to turn this into an arguement, since you made your points quite clear, but I did feel the need to justify my opinion. You're the mods and you're in charge of running this site. I'm only trying to voice my personal concerns.
