Just because someone gets nasty with you does not give you free license to do the same back, nor as history has shown on the forums, are such excuses usually accepted by the mods. I know this hard to judge, but if someone posted something (clean, not slanderous) that was obviously (purposely) going to get someone mad. If the second person flamed then would the first person face any consequences.

That's pretty much the definiton of trolling (with the 'clean' limitation). The judgement part is where you have to decide if the intent was to anger, or if it's just such a strongly held position that the poster cannot conceive that somebody else might hold a different, opposed, and possibly valid opinion. It's my read that Neo Rogolia holds the second view.

Despite such strongly held views, it is my hope that single-view individuals might actually see that there is a possibility that others might in fact have valid opinions that don't agree with their worldview. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen all that often here.
