What is the reason to close this nice and polite topic?

I had thought that my post was clear enough. If not...

maybe there should be one thread for all tests and quizzes.

That is a solution!
But I don't understand that 1 of 2 tests is closed:

NationStates Moderator Team
Ladies and gents, if we see too many of a "trend thread", we will lock some of them.

How much is too many, 2 (in this case, the Roman and the Nazi one)? Or are the Ok cupid tests just not allowed, better be clear about it! Must say that people enjoy it and that all posters are polite. I also don't understand how Kat's dictate matches with the forum rules. Violet (the webmaster) rules aren't showing me one reason why those those nice and polite polls must be banned. When they spoil the general topic, I would understand, but 2 topics in 3/4 days? Can't imagine that Violet agreeds with the closing of that amusing test. But will ask him.

Explain yourself better via NS rules please instead of your own, personal, quote as a Moderator. The rules of NS in wich is explained that those polls are forbidden will help many of posters.

Reading those rules again: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023
I don't see any problem in the NS rules. Correct my where I am wrong, please? I will show and post in the moderation forum dozens of other polls that must be stoped at once then, when this kind of post was wrong (Oh I will, it will be a pleasure to finetune those new rules).

Thank you

General

Copycat threads: When somebody creates a popular thread, copycats and parodies quickly flood the forums. Like any other fad, a few can be fun, but once everyone starts to copycat them it becomes overbearing and spammish. Such threads may be locked or moved to Spam by any moderator who considers that thread to be a copycat or spam thread. Threads with genuine content may be left alone, but that probability increases dramatically when you don't use a fad title.
The rules give a moderator discretion to decide what is and isn't copycatting. As it happens, I saw about 5-6 of those threads closed around 16:00 EST today, just on a casual glance of General.

My colleague made the correct call.

A fad title was used.

You may not like the result, but the rules were applied fairly.
