The entire thread just seems to be there purely and solely to bash Israel, even that title is just baiting. He's just begging for responses with a title like that, and from that point on he basically just posts about five times just to further his baiting each time. Will post specific examples in a sec.

Come on mods, this has been up for four days. I've seen other requests come and go, I appreciate the work you do and that you don't always have time, but could a mod please look at this thread?

Sanctaphrax, this is not the "protect Israel from attacks" moderation team any more than it is the "protect the USA" or "protect the Nazis" or "protect the spotted frickin' owl" team.

This is a forum based on a book based on political satire. You better learn to expect radically different opinions here, and we're not going to protect you from them. Whether you or I disagree with OceanDrive2's opinions on this matter, they are in fact his opinions, and consistent with the rest of his posts on these boards. I don't see ANY of the quoted posts as being flaming or flamebait, with the possible exception of the "weak debater" comment, which I didn't consider actionable.

You want a ruling? I rule that nothing actionable has taken place. Case closed.

With all due respect Fris, I'd like a second opinion on this, as I believe I'm entitled to. Specifically the post quoted above, and the following.

many people reserve more 40% of their threads against the USA...and the don't whine that much.

yet the Posts about Israel are much more whined about..all the way to the moderation forum...WHY?

Its not my fault its old news. When I reported it it was still very much news, and just because it happened a week ago doesn't mean it should just rest, otherwise the moderators could not respond to any claims in Moderation and then wait for the players to turn the page.

I agree with the mods. Bashing Israel isn't against the rules, nor is it flaming, anymore than bashing any OTHER country. And it isn't just random insults, but his opinion, after quoting a recent event.

In a modern age with free speech, you can't expect societies on the internet to share the same reverence for Israel that you do.

The general forum is a place where people can express their opinions in a nuanced way without being offensive to other users. Opinions can be controversial, rational, irrational or "generally accepted". Opinions can be in favor of Israel, but they can also be against Israel.

If your opinions about x or y are well documented and/or posted without using insults even though lacking some backing arguments, no action is needed. None of the above posts contain insults. That's just how it is... If these arguments just said: Israel sucks it'd be probably flaming, but I'm not a mod.

Another mod reviewed this case, and pointed out something I missed in this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9330031&postcount=24), specifically "I would not tax the mods time with small shit like this...and I am not a crybaby.". I concur with the other mod's opinion that this is minor flamebait, and a "Knock it off, OceanDrive2" is in order.

Accordingly, I have telegramed OceanDrive2 with a link to this thread and this ruling. I'll also advise The Lone Alliance and Warrigal not to post comments such as the above to Moderation threads, as they serve no other purpose than to inflame the situation, exactly the opposite of what we seek to do.

I'll leave this thread open, but only for Sanctaphrax, OceanDrive2 or additional moderator comment. I think we've had quite enough gadfly opinions here, so don't bother, folks.
