Is celebrating your age illegal?

I'm pretty sure that threads celebreating your post count (OMG I reached 1,000! w00t!) are outlawed, but how 'bout threads celebreating your age? Today is my two year anniversary on NS (Something that stirs both pride and regret within me) and I wanted to make a thread about it. "Wow, I'm so old. I've done this and this and that.....", or something along those lines.

So, I was just wondering if doing so would get me a warning and a lock, or if it's okay.

I'm pretty sure that's okay; I think I've seen people celebrate that sort of stuff in Gameplay before. Also, IIRC, there was a population celebration thread in Gameplay as well, and it went off without a hitch.

As far as I know, it would be okay as long as there is some legit content in it. Actual topics rather than just a spamfest (as most post count ones are). Me reading your post seems like you will recall great RP's and "military" conflicts you've been in, so that seems like content to me.

I could be wrong, but I've seen TMGH respond to about 15 threads since the last time I logged on, him or another mod will be around for this one too.

I remember a few threads in the past, and given their performance I would say that the whole post would be fine. Just so long as I think you keep it strictly within the bounds of celebrating two years on Nationstates, rather than how good you might be because of it. For example, Steel Butterfly had posted something fairly similar at one point I remember, and to my knowledge that went without any harrassment.

Ultimately, you simply need to define it from the regular spam, and if you can manage that then Im sure that the post will be more than acceptable. If you cant manage that, then dont post.

Damn, I missed my second NS birthday, it was 20 days ago. Meh.

As you can't possibly accumulate years as fast as you accumulate posts, I'm going to let age celebration topics slide. If this starts getting out-of-hand (like lots of people start posting a separate topic celebrating each month they play NationStates), then we may have to crack down; if you limit yourselves to an annual thing, then I don't see a problem.

I've seen age celebration posts on I.I. and have never seen a problem with it on the part of moderator or player alike. In fact, I often enjoy reading them and it's a good place to reflect on your NS past, especially since I credit NS for a number of positive things, though I think it should be kept to an annual thing rather than one per month.

I did my two-year one in January and even got a post from a couple of mods, including Reppy. Should be fine, I imagine.
