I hate how Hataria's threads always seem to turn out this way regardless of what he does :rolleyes:

After reading the thread, yes, it does seem like a dogpile of nations against Hataria, but there are also some larger nations in there that have pledged their defense of Hataria.

The moderators don't police the roleplay aspect of NS, unless it is obviously spam or if there are some obvious rules broken (flaming, flamebaiting, trolling, etc). To me, it seems fine because The Fedral Union and Hataria are having a legitimate roleplay, as well as a few other nations. It may not be the best of roleplaying... but nevertheless, it is still retaining an RP status, in my opinion.

Their problem is thus: Hataria has long been known to godmod to incredible levels. People have glassed his lands and knocked him back into the stone age at least a dozen times, with legitimate RP, which he usually doesn't respond to. Each time, he somehow resurrects himself, usually overnight, and declares war on someone else. Even Sephiroth, or whatever his name is, refused to try to fight him.

Also, what Euroslavia said. It's not often the mods intervene in RP.

I would see this as the players choice on if they want to RP with him or not. Yes, he doesn't exactly have a clear reputation for roleplaying, and that's something everyone should keep in mind when deciding to roleplay with Hataria; though at the same time, I suppose I can understand the frustration of Hataria being glassed and attacked by practically everyone in International Incidents, because they want to be known as the nation to 'finally defeat Hataria' (Kinda like how a lot of the newer players love to attack Automagfreek, because they want to create a legacy of some sort).

See, that's the thing. This time, he didn't declare war on anyone. The Fedral Union (as well as other nations) attacked him first.

But sadly, there is nothing the mods can do. They do not police RP, and as long as it does not degenerate into flames or spam, they won't do anything.

I don't know about 'legit RP' as some of the crap I've seen guys pull on Hataria and claim to be legitimate is pretty crap roleplay in itself... for example, the latest attempt to roleplay terrorists attacking his nation started with the player roleplaying the sucess of his attack without even bothering with the whole 'getting into the target nation' posts or even making any effort to make a proper attempt at infilration.

Quite simply, roleplay like that is godmoding and sets a bad example for Hataria and others... especially when the majority of the nations who hate him incist that it's a 'legimate attack' despite the fact it ignores one of the basic rules of freeform RP in the first post; don't claim damages.

Now, I understand that Hataria has a reputation problem... he's got alot to learn himself but frankly like every other RPer in this forum he has the right to ignore any thread or post he chooses, though he has to understand that doing so without any good justification will cause more nations to ignore him. However, thats not going to happen because people seem to choose to attempt to force crap roleplay on him instead of ignoring him and not replying to the posts they concider to be godmoding. One would think that if he's so bad that the majority of these people would have ignored him by now, but no... instead he's a target of annexation and 'n00b' jokes.

Frankly, he's never going to get better if people don't learn to either treat him with respect, or to just ignore him. There shouldn't be a half way where people will RP with him just to show him up... it's unfair and he'll never learn that way.

You have consider that nation was a young nation and is now Rping very successfully.
