I'm gonna say "no" here. Both threads are quite active this morning, and seem to be pursuing somewhat independant paths, so a merge would add unnecessary confusion.
I prefer to use the Merge function when somebody has created a new thread on the exact subject as an idle thread, or when one of them is really short. When both are living and active, it really makes it tough to follow. The merge function sorts the posts chronologically, so you're intermingling dissimilar threads and ideas.
An alternative is to lock one with a link to the other, but I don't think even that is appropriate here. We'll just let 'em both run their course for now.
Sounds good. When I made the request, the one thread was quite new and seemed to be an exact copy. I see now that they have since diversified:)
