How can you tell if a Nation has been DEATed?

Is there any method to check on the final resolution of a Mod Debate on deleting a nation?

You could always check on whether the nation existed or not....

I did that... I just was unsure how interrelated the Forums were from just playing a Nation for the Issues. (I played a nation for quite a while without ever posting on the Forums...)

Nation accounts and forum accounts are interrelated. When the nation is created, a forum account is reserved in that name. It doesn't get activated unless you click the forums link (and provide an email address, I think?)

When that nation is deleted, the forum account is permabanned (I believe), rather than outright deletion. Thus, the old posts retain their attribution, but the nation can't make any new posts. Likewise, a deleted nation can no longer log in, answer issues, post on regional messageboards, etc.

Goobergunchia is correct. If you see ...Uh-oh
Nation Not Found: "syniks"... you can be fairly certain that the mods decided "against". It's rare that we permanently forumban without deleting outright, so as a general rule, "Missing nation = DEAT nation"

Aye Fris, a nation does not have access to the forum until it clicks the activation link sent to it by email when it first signs up. If you change the email without ever signing up for the forum, it sends the link again.

That's not actually true. Whenever I create a puppet, it automatically has access to the forums. I've never received a confirmation e-mail from Jolt to access the forums since the move.

That's likely because you are using the same IP for both nations. (a SWAG on my part)

Thanks for the clarification Fris.

I have.

I think it might be that I'm accessing the forums with pre-Jolt puppets who have never posted ... but now that I think on it, I'm pretty sure some new puppets had to confirm as well. Syniks, I think your SWAG is just that. IP addresses are irrelevant to this.

Guess we'll just have to get an admin to weigh in on this.

I've always had to validate puppets individually (on Jolt) when I created them, and used them in the forums.

Yeah, I guess that's all we can do. I just created a puppet a few days ago, and I could post on the forum instantaneously and received no e-mail confirmation.

And that's why I'd be a lousy admin... :D
