OK, I'm sick of this

I said something stupid (but definitely not against the rules and not quite what I was accused of saying).

Texpundistan flamed me repeatedly.

I perhaps showed more restraint than I should have, but did recognize what I said could be offensive. But editing my putatively offensive remark and apologizing only led to more attacks.

Whole thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=430010&page=1&pp=15)

Also, in a separate thread, Tex went off because the thread author didn't like us going off-topic re his being depressed. Tex had told him "Big fucking deal. Get over it." and I objected. When the thread author said he didn't care about our dispute, Tex responded with profanities at that person.

This is the offending post:

I've posted. I suggest you and Texpunditistan simply leave each other alone.

Hey, disregard the complaint about him flaming against me, because I specifically asked Cat-tribe not to report it. I mean.. If the person who is flamed against doesn't consider it flaming, and the person who supposedly "flamed" doesn't consider it flaming, it's not flaming, right?

If I may says so, go easy on him, please (as a result of removing the complaint involving me). Because he's obviously easily pissed-off, but I think he means well and I don't think he's really upset anyone.

For future reference: wrong.

Forum rules don't permit flaming. You don't have the option to override or ignore forum rules at your convenience. It's not fair to the other readers, who see your flames and think that it's fine to do so with permission. It's not.
