They made it clear in their sometimes joking way that they don’t really care what the president has to say and are not to impressed by his presentation style …

You should have been more specific because what you got was their real thoughts on the topic

Let me put it this way: Unless the thread becomes another flame war, I don't think it will get locked. General doesn't work the same way as the RP threads. You don't "own" the thread because you started it.

And about your comment that you didn't start it, two wrongs don't make a right. And the mods don't consider whether you started it or not when they decide on any disciplinary actions. If you did it and they see it, you pay the price for it.

Wow, talk about sour grapes. Come on Corneliu, the responses weren't so awful that it requires the thread to be deleated.

Sorry to say it but don't expect any relief. They have a little game going where if they percieve you as conservative in any way they push and insult you as far as possible. If you defend yourself then one of their buddies runs and complains. If they get the right mod, your history while one of them gets a hand slap. When the board is 80% stacked against you, just figure your here to provide fodder.

As do many of us. The point is that Corneliu posted a thread asked for people's thoughts and when he didn't like those thoughts he came here and asked for the thread to be locked. Sour grapes indeed. Given that there is no flamebait, flaming, trolling, or any rules being broken in that thread, why would he want it locked? Of course this is only my speculation but it would appear it's because he doesn't like the "thoughts" people have on Bush's speech tonight. Certainly not reason to lock a thread in my opinion at least.

Working in a prison for so long makes con games very transparent when they are this simple minded. It might help to pick out their "drivers" and just ignore them. You will find they figured prominately in yesterdays similar incident.

You're probably right, however this is moderation and the topic is relevant to the motivation of why he wants the thread locked. I have seen no per se off topic discussion taking place that is not relevant to the topic and directly relevant to this thread.

We are after all allowed to voice our opinions on moderation topics and decisions. Just ask Max Barry!

Liverbreath, if you have a problem with decisions handed down by the mods, deal with it directly - with the mods. I really don't want to discuss the particulars of the case you're continuing to allude to, as I was a party to the altercation that occured in General yesterday, whereas you weren't.

I do want to make it clear that I find your insinuations troubling. Highly troubling. I am not acting in concert with anybody, left, right or...center, and there is no conspiracy of any sort to have anyone on NS silenced.

That being said, I don't see as how your statements (or my responses) are helping matters. Might I suggest that you create a thread, or initiate some private TGs, in order to deal with your concerns? I await your reply.

I'm not making an immediate judgment, but I've had enough of the bickering.

I've skimmed the thread, looks like standard thread evolution. Since we don't lock General threads just because the author doesn't like the destination. I see no need to lock it.

With no small amount of trepidation, I'm going to unlock this thread in case there's further questions. Let's keep the sniping to minimum, though, okay?
