Of the underpants... I read the thread. It does not look as if Upward Thrust is spamming at all. UpwardThrust is discussing Macs and Mac OS (which is, from your first post, the topic of discussion unless I am mistaken) as well as PCs. Each of the posts s/he made were in direct answer to posts made by other posters, including yourself.

Post #22 is in answer to Black Forrest's post briefly suggesting SATA instead of the Ethernet system s/he is currently using.

Post #23 is in answer to Borgoa, briefly suggesting his/her system over the one Borgoa has.

Post #24 is in answer to a statement on microprocessors that The Black Forrest made.

Post #26 talks about Mac OS and PCs with Sabbatis.

Post #28 discusses features of Tiger.

There does not appear to be anything warnable here. If UpwardThrust were talking about yodeling, or what s/he is making for dinner, or any topic outside of computers and operating systems (and more specifically Mac and Tiger) then that would be considered spamming the thread.

Unlike the roleplay forums, in General one cannot 'uninvite' other posters unless they are breaking the rules by spamming a thread, hijacking a thread, flamebaiting, trolling, flaming, et cetera. Once the topic is open, anyone who remains on topic may give their opinions.

If UpwardThrust does not remain on topic, let us know.

Ok, I didn't mean spamming I meant whatever putting multiple posts is called....there IS something about that in the rules thing...one of the mods told me about it the other day.

I confess I am at a loss.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8784641&postcount=3 These are the rules governing posting on all of the Nationstates forums.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8784666&postcount=6
These are the rules governing the General Forum-specific rules.

I do not see anything in that thread which violates either of the forum rulesets that would seem to apply to this situation.

What about this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8784641&postcount=3)?

Post-Whoring: Any post specifically designed to feature or increase your post count is considered post-whoring, and is illegal on NationStates. If you want to increase your postcount legally, you may do so in Jolt's spam forum. Don't be surprised if your "I made 1000 posts!" thread is moved to Spam.

UpwardThrust is clearly not post-whoring. Each of the responses was on topic and answering or clarifying a statement made earlier.

post+1! would be an example of post-whoring.

I believe to remember when Ackbar would make very long posts, responding to several people in one post. Neut (game mod back then) told him he preferred Ackbar responding to all those people in seperate posts. I'll try to find that post..

How would my first post be post-whoring?

Katganistan is not referring to your first post. She is referring to someone who posts (as the entire content of the post) "post +1".

See this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=359416) for a prime example of post-whoring. Yes, it's in the Spam folder.

Your first post is not post-whoring.

Posting the words "post+1!!!!1!!!!!!" or some variant, for example, would be post whoring. Posting simply for the sake of increasing your post count is post whoring.

Oh right, gotcha..understand now. But still if he's posting one after another when he/she's been on ns long enuff to realise that he can just go back and edit his post and put quote in....?

In the General forum, which happens to be the fastest moving forum in NationStates, tons of people tend to post, making it hard for one person to edit their post, and for the person it is intended for to see it. Making a new post would be the best way of having the other person you're responding to see your post.
