Drunk Commies Reborn was deleted. I wasn't given any explanation by the mods. When I tried to get an answer on the moderation forum I got nothing. Some mod changed the subject to why my older nation, Drunk Commies, was deleted and I was warned not to post anything else about it in moderation. This is bullshit. If the mods want to delete me that's their right, but don't I deserve an explanation?

So? You'll still get deleted again. Even if they're wrong, they have to stand by their decision so that we don't have something to bring up later. But then, you might have deserved it. You probably know more about it than me. Why the hell am I even commenting? meh.

(The last Mod post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8999074&postcount=9) in that thread (which explains why DCR was deleted) is at 8:45 am (PST), and your post here is at 8:50 am).

While I fully recognize that you could have started this thread before reading the last Mod post in that thread in terms of timing, it is that post in which you were told not to post more on the subject.

When I watch what might be trolling or flaming, I usually put it in light of who the person is talking with.

Drunk Commies and I agree on some things, and disagree on others. Yet although we've argued before, we've never had a problem with flaming or trolling. He's "liberal" and I'm "conservative" and yet there isn't a problem.

I've seen Dobbs have the same sort of problems - I can talk with Dobbs on anything, and we're not slamming each other.

I'm not a mod though.

As I said in the original thread, since you failed to mention that it was "drunk commies reborn" you were talking about, I assumed it was "drunk commies." We don't keep track of everyone's latest nations. Once I figured out what you are talking about, I edited my post, within 2 minutes of posting it. The later edit was to fix the broken links.

In the future, you may get a quicker response when you make it clear what you are talking about.

I noticed that as well. And if it was relevant, it should have been viewable so that DCD could see the contents.

Drunk Commies Deleted, i don't think that constantly complainging about it will make them reverse it also.



Just an observation

There is the problem, I suppose. The thought that nothing a person has done before 'matters'. It seems that when there is a pattern of behaviour, the mods take that into consideration. If someone has been warned before, and better yet, deleted before, and should know better, logic seems to point out that they will be less lenient in the future for further infractions than they would be with someone who'd never been in trouble before in any incarnations. If I had the time to go forum diving, I could probably come up with direct quotes of mods pretty much stating that.

Nice try on the conspiracy theories, though. Always fun to watch. And as has been stated time and again by dozens of others, likely much more eloquent than myself: If you can't at least try to make a good effort at abiding by the rules, this may not be the right game for you. If you really can't stand how it's run, you're always free to leave. Just like any of the rest of us who are held to the same standards here, and somehow manage to get along without any serious run-ins with the moderation team.

(Think I'll sit back and wait for another old conspiracy theory to pop up after stating that. I know how some love to hold on to their illusions.)

For the record, I am the $MOD3 cited above by Melkor and I am the Moderator who deleted "Drunk Commies Reborn".

Drunk Commies, you were given a minor warning for 'in before the lock' spam here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8577318#post8577318) on April 1st, and this warning was tagged to your national file.

You were later forumbanned for three days for this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8888725&postcount=168), which was deemed threatening. The forumban was not, however, recorded on your national file until later.

Last night, I was told by other Mods on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) about a topic of yours deemed to be borderline trolling for gloating over people dying in yet another Israeli/Palestinian conflict. That would be this link (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=423189), posted earlier in this thread, which doesn't work for ordinary players because the thread was soft-deleted; only Moderators have permission to view that topic, at the moment. The judgment of myself and the Mods present at the time was that gloating over real life deaths should not be allowed on NationStates as it falls under the "malicious" clause; I don't anticipate this judgment changing.

I was also told that you had been forumbanned long before last night for some threatening post in a 180-post-long topic (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=419556); I didn't see this forumban recorded on your national file, so I went to add the notation after the fact.

Here's the next complication: When I went to go add the past forumban to your national file, I didn't want to just link the entire 180-post topic; I wanted to link the specific post deemed threatening. While looking for that post, I spotted two other posts by you that were flamebait here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8888507&postcount=98) and here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8888637&postcount=138) ). So, I deleted you for a combination of those two posts and the Isreali/Palestinian thing from last night. When I reviewed my work earlier today, it clicked in my mind that those two cases of flamebait were from before you were forumbanned for 3 days. So, on one hand, I probably should not have deleted you for those incidents since they were already covered by the forumban. On the other hand, another complicating factor is that you are a past offender, so you get less slack than everyone else; the deletion could stand on those grounds.

I've finished consulting with other NationStates Moderators and this is the judgment: After a post-mortem team review, the official opinion is that you've had multiple chances with the "Drunk Commies Reborn" account and that the Israeli-killing-Palestinians gloating thing was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. Thus, the deletion stands.

This should clear things up for you.
