Ancient Nation

Many moons ago I had the LPS Nation of Cynigal, but it died from my lack of an ISP. When I rejoined in Jan, I couldn't/didn't? appeal to resurrect it.

(A) is it possible to see when it was created (oldtimers thread propted)?
(B) can it be ressurected as a puppet?

Thanks.

Put in a Getting Help request. It's not too late to resurrect it (probably). I don't know whether we can tell its age or not, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to check that until it's been brought back. Once it's back, check the XML on it.

Oh, BTW, how does one know if/when a country is resurected? Do we get a private email with instructions or some such?

Thanks again.

You'll notice because you'll be able to log in in it..

It will be waiting in the region "Lazarus"

You may receive a telegram in the inbox of the nation you requested it from (if not logged in then I'm quite sure that you will not).

But you can always do a search for it in the world to see if it has been resurrected, then can log into it as normal (as Crazy Girl said), or if you;ve forgotten the password, can use the 'forgot your password' service (if you are still using the e-mail address entered (if any).

Remember, you need to add the nation / region name to the relevant XML line.

http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi?nation=

... and,

http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/regiondata.cgi?region=

Don't forget to put %20 or an underscore instead of a space in the nation or region name which you add to the end, if need be, of course.

Sigh.

I guess ressurection zeros out the first login & creation dates. bummer. Now I'll never know how long i've been a PITA on NS... :(

Take a look at your telegrams. If you still have the welcome message that the system sent you on registration, you know how many days your nation is old.

Of course, if that's gone, it's no use...

So, really old nations wouldn't have their correct creation date noted in their files.

Does 'December 2003' count as really old though? I made four nations around that time and a few weeks after, which I got resurrected just a few months ago. The XML creation date is gone to shambles, giving some tens of thousands of days ago, so I guess it's time 0 (1.1.1970 iirc).

Well, NS started on November 13th, 2002, and managed to beat the 1000 natiosn mark on November 24th, 2002. When I joined (January 28th, 2003) it had some 62000- 68000 nations created (A good amount of which had already died from inactivity, though), so... Well, your call if December 2003 is 'old' :P

If you go by 'Older than the time $Feature was added', then yes, it's old :P

Well, if [Violet] can come up with the date the pre-release/review copies of JG were sent out to (US) booksellers, Cynigal was created not too long after that. I don't remember how long, but I do remember it was a hell of a lot easier to reach Libertarian Police State status than it is now... (original set of Issues?)
