Regional settings permission

I hope this is the right place to ask this. (I hope not to incur mod wrath if it is because I need your help).

I founded a region that has now been invaded. My nation lapsed due to inactivity once, and it was resurrected four days later. I cannot access regional settings now, but nor can my friend, who has the second oldest nation in the region. We were the first two nations there.

Should one of us be able to access settings, because we'd really like to defend against and/or boot the invaders? How do we go about doing so?

And is it possible for me to regain founder's privileges?

We just want to get rid of the griefers and prevent future incidents.

Just to note I've already submitted a help request using the Getting Help section. But I just read about the regional settings page and tried to access it, as did that friend of mine with no luck.

You say that you founded the region, but did you ever had regional control? I don't see your name as founder. Looks like you founded the region before there were even founders in Nationstates.
Anyway, you should talk this over in the "getting help" section. Your opponents might read this too.

Ah, I only read about the regional control settings yesterday, and I just figured they were something I just missed before or were retroactive.

Going to ask for help on that in a more secluded channel. Thanks.
