Hi, my nation (Rotovia) appear to have recently be banned. I assume this is in response to a thread I created entitled "Anyone in this forum I haven't offended" or somehting to that effect.

Now I understand I probally went too far with that, but surely that doesn't warrant banning a 3 Billion+ nation? (I understand you don't take that into consideration, but still).

It's just, I've never even received a warning in the forums before*. If you would be willing to reconsider the ban I'd be happy to issue a formal apology and tone down my posts to comply with NS guidelines.

*Just incase it comes up, I once received a UN related warning. I think it was about a Proposal I posted featuring a clause to give Rotovia the soveriegn rights of all UN nations.

You do realize that by posting on this forum you are in violation of your forum ban? You could've either talked to them via #themodcave or the GHP...

Which counts for exactly nothing in the course of a Moderation decision, Ham-o. This sort of post isn't helpful. Please take such comments to General.

Thanks for the advice. But I don't know how to use IRC and I don't knwo what the second one means. I kind of hope the Mods won't ban a guy for posting about his ban. That seems a little rough.

I believe you were simply forumbanned for a period of time for that thread, but you were deleted for violation said forum ban with "Rotoviaisback" or something like that.

GHP = Getting Help Page. There's Java clients for IRC, you wouldn't have to install anything, and there's tutorials around to learn how to use it.

No matter what people say in this thread, you better stop posting in this forum right away. You should have got a message about why you are banned, and how long you are banned. No need to answer this post either.

Contact the mods on IRC or the "Getting help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/46290/page=help)". File your request under the subject "other".

This topice better be locked, because this is not the way to solve a banning problem.

Correct. Given that the primary violation was only a three day ban, posting with Rotoviaisback that you were avoiding the ban was not the best choice you could make.

IRC is not an available option for most, such as me, my university firewall forbids almost all Instant Messenger clients, I’m only able to use MSN through a spark of creativity.

The Getting Help page, where everything is logged and official is the best channel to recommend.

But I’m not a mod so meh :p
