Why the thread move?

The "What Are You Listening To?" thread was moved to spam and I was wondering why. It is in probably its 8th or 9th incarnation and has spawned some decent discussion on music, and at least has let us learn the music preferences of fellow posters and find some new music.
I think that moving this thread should be reconsidered.

Possible reasons:
According to my search findings, there's about 7 different versions of that thread in the spam forum alone.
It had no relation to the forum it was originally placed in (albeit, I have no idea what that was, but chances are, that's the case)
It seems just short of, if not, a textbook description of, Short Pointless Annoying Messages
There doesn't seem to be any actual discussion going on...
And the fact that you've re-incarnated that topic "8 or 9 times" doesn't say much for it either.
I'm not a mod, but those seem like reasonable guesses to me.

Considering it is a General Forum, I think just about everything is related to the forum.

These are probably true, I guess, although they aren't pointless or annoying, depending on who you ask.

This is the first one to get moved, if I am correct. A few of the others went to about dozen pages.
I liked the threads like this, and I don't know what harm they were causing, but oh well.

There was no discussion going on -- it was simply albums, bands and titles -- pretty much "count +1" post whoring. Other threads doing precisely the same have ended up in spam.
General is a place to DISCUSS almost anything, not list endlessly.
