Yesterday, I log into my nation like any normal day. But I soon find out that someone got my password and attempted to destroy my region by ejecting everyone in it! Luckily I logged on before the region was deleted.

Then, just a few hours later...I find out this same person stole my AOL Instant Messenger account! Accusing me of cussing him out and saying "F New Emerica and F Global Right Alliance" and all that.

In short, some people need to get a life! This is only a freakin GAME! If anyone can really take it THAT seriously then you need some serious HELP! I also have reason to believe this person was a Nazi. Which shows the person isnt quite there in the head to begin with!

So people of NationStates. Do NOT give out your e-mail or messenger names! OR create a different account for NationStates use only!

This should be moved somewhere, since this is a OOC post that doesn't relate to the NS forum itself.

Having said that, how'd they manage to get your password? You should probably consider changing it periodically and making it something easy for you to remember but hard for them to figure out.

A) Don't post stuff like this in random forums, regardless of how irritated you are. iMove from NS to Moderation.

B) Flamebaiting is still flamebaiting, even when it's against Nazis. Cut it out.

C) Password security is YOUR responsibility (in the general sense of "You the Player", not just New Emerica). You should NEVER use the same password on your nation, your IM, your offsite forums, etc. Use a series of strong passwords, never give out your password to ANYONE, etc, etc.

Nah-just sounds to me like you got into the wrong crowd. Just be sure to know you can trust the person before you go around giving them your details. I've given my details to a few people because I know I can trust them. And they havent let me down. Being cautious is the safest thing.
