Is this breaking some kind of rule? I think so. Both the person who is quoted and the person doing the quoting. Assuming that being religious is something negative and that Christians are mentally retarded.
sounds like a puppet of someone who got banned.
not a mod but a Mod fan.
Ich bin nicht ein mod.
But I believe that Turkishsquirrel is flaming. Not so sure about the other guy though.

Flamebait: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies.
IMHO, it looks more like flamebait than flame, as it's not directed towards one specific person.
Thread topic is interesting. "Illegal Insult" what I want to know is what are the legal insults.. :D

Hmm, illegal insult sounds like an oxymoron.... you know, like 'civil war'....
"I say there, old chap, sorry, but I'm going to have to shoot you now...."
"Don't mention it. Shall I lie here and bleed once you've shot me?"
"A little to the left, I should think; I don't want to get blood on my uniform."
"All right then... sorry for the mess..."
BLAM!

A legal Insult.... hmmm...
"All non-Christians are Heretics...'
probably can be construed as one.
or...
"You shine out like a shaft of Gold while all about you is Dark." i.e. you are bat piss.

Actually...well don't quote me for saying this...but I believe a definition of "heretic" is someone who isn't Christian. I think it's mostly used as someone who doesn't follow a certain religion though. Not exactly insulting unless you are actually a steadfast believer.

Except that bats are notoriously nocturnal creatures and live in caves --id est, below the ground. ;) Any bat you see out and about in daytime possibly is ill.
Thing is, folks, insults should not be part of your repertoire if you expect your arguments to be taken seriously, and are probably within the realms of flame, flamebaiting and trolling, all of which violate our TOS.
So don't do it, mmkay?
