I had reported the griefing of "the ancient kingdom" by Rickpolis through the getting help page, but then noticed this griefer/multi at work in another region, trying to get delegacy.

so i found hack on irc, and he deleted the guy. now, because of the glitch, he was restored, and i went into the modcave this morning to tell about this griefer, left a message, and had to leave. now i get back, and transexual transylvania was griefed, just like i said he would. now he is trying it in yet another region. please stop him.

then they thought I was insane because I kept hard liquor in them, and hung six-packs from a tree and claimed they grew there. And they almost put me away when I insisted that Sam Adams, Jack Daniels, Jim Bean, and Jose Cuervo were the actual essances of the men they were named after. after that things started getting hazy

As you may already be aware, for the last 5 days I have been interrogating the prisoners I caught in my "hidden wine celler" (I do not miss spell things on accident). I now have developed stratagems to deal with future raids.

Perhaps I will start experimenting with the extraction of essances (not essences, those are different)

I believe one way to do it is to have delegate access to the control panel thingy turned off. Another would be to have a passworded region.

Your region can't be griefed as long as Syniks keeps Delegate access turned off. That's the benefit of having a resident and living Founder.

Anyway, evidence can be found at http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=415290 - at least turn off Delegate access to Regional Control before making him Delegate if you don't want your region griefed, although I'd recommend booting him.

Another would be to have a passworded region.This is actually counter-productive in most cases, right now. There are so many defender regions in existence that they'll go and "save" a close battle for the natives. If a griefer or his friends can get a password and give it to all his friends, then you have to go to all the trouble of finding a defender region, giving someone there a password, waiting for it to filter to all their friends, etc. This takes enough time that the invasive delegate will have at least a day to wreck things.

When I region-crashed, long ago, I was always just barely overpowering the regions invaded (because I didn't bother griefing, and most people want to hurt those they've humiliated), so just one or two defenders was enough. This meant there was no appreciable delay, rather than having to wait for the message to circulate to the whole defender region.

Yes, yes, but the fact remains a well controlled pass-word can still be a valuable tool in region defense.

I'll cede to that point if you agree to emphasize "well-controlled."
