Deleted nation- glitch or mod action?

Hi. A little while ago, I noticed that one of my nations that I had just created- "The Nicaean Empire"- was deleted (as it was classified as an "ex-nation" on the UN Report). In my haste, I checked the forums and learned of the server crash, upon which I thought that maybe the nation was also a casualty of. One person suggested refounding any lost nations, so I decided to attempt to do so with "The Nicaean Empire". It worked, as I was able to recreate "The Nicaean Empire" without a problem. However, I want to know if it was deleted by the mods (and if so, why) because it appeared as an "ex-nation". I suspect it wasn't (since I was able to recreate it), but I want to make sure. Thanks.

if you were able to recreate it, I highly doubt the mods actually deleted it

I figured that, but I want to make sure.

Well, from what I've been reading so far ...

The Glitch meant a Back-Up of NS, taken just before the glitch started, had to be installed. How-ever, since there was a period of time between when the Back-Up was made and when The Glitch started, anything game-activity wise that happened during this small period of time has likely been lost and there-fore " hasn't actually happened " as far as the data on the server is now concerned.

( That means Moderator actions in that period of time too, everything in fact that happened in the ame. Issues being answered, proposals being endorsed, all of it. )

Hence why you were able to " re " - create the nation / region / what-have-you. As far as the game was concerned, it was being made for the first time when you made it for what was for you the second time you made it. You may notice some trouble with the forum though, if its forum thing was validated, as the servers packing the Forums were not affected that I know of.

As far as I know, once a nation is DEAT'd, it cannot come back, ( Unless there was an accidental DEAT'ing, etc and all that crap )

In fact, come to think of it, nations cannot be " re-created " by players, at least not until the Great Names Release finally gets going. as it stands only dead nations from " natural causes " such as log-in period time-out expiration can be ressurected via GHP request ...

( In conclusion ; I'm not a Mod, of course, but I'd say its almost 100 % likely rom what you've said that you were just a Glitch victim, RomeW )

Yes was there a glitch??? last night two nations joined our region Wyndia, then I noticed one was deleted, he had come from Elvis Presley Grotto, I looked there anr 41 nations had been deleted in Elvis Presley Grotto as well as the Nation that had moved to Wyndia.

This morning it is as though the game has been wound back a day with none of these events taking place. We have no new nations and EP Grotto has been restored, what happened.

It now looks to me as there was some kind of glitch and the whole game has been been set back a day by restoring a back up version from a day or two ago.

Actually, you can't see it in the news because the news have been reset too :p
Here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8759984&postcount=2) is a message in which Heiligkeit has quoted the article Kwaswhakistan ment.

I'm hoping you meant that humorously. Strange idea of a joke, if you ask me. Here's the new item (http://www.nationstates.net/news/2005/04/27/index.html#diskspace)

All nations that were created during the 20 hours of downtime were lost. Despite the fact that the Regional Happenings board may show their movement, they "never existed" as far as the game is concerned. You may re-create such nations without penalty.
