Oh gracious and kind moderators,
[/mild sarcasm]
As I have been forced to close the nation leaders 4 thread, could you please lock and unpin my thread and pin Northrop-Grumman's list so as to keep everything running smoothly. NG has been working hard and I thing this would work everything out for me and the forums.

How about some links, please? Some of us may not happen to know of which you speak.

This is the thread CM wants unstickied.
I did some digging but couldn't find the old one that he wants restickied. I probably should have subscribed to it a long time ago, but I forgot about it.

Yeah, I found the sticky one pretty easily. It's the replacement that evaded me.

.::The New Official List of National Leaders::. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=327933)
This thread is in Nationstates, but I'm sure that NG will be ok with adding all the leaders from II as well.

Northrop-Grumman's list frankly isn't active enough for a sticky, nor has he asked for one (in a quick glance of the thread). If you want the II crowd to add leaders to a NS sticky, ... I'm not sure what would be the best route.
Frankly, I'm always looking for ways to reduce the sticky count. If the thread isn't about something related to behavior in that forum or isn't all that active (one or two posts every few days doesn't cut it), I don't think it should be a sticky anyway.
I'm not closing the door, I'm just not convinced we need a Leaders sticky, now that CM has withdrawn his updating of the old Sticky. Let NG and others make a case, or suggest a move to II or something. Let's see what y'all have to say.

Personally, I fail to see why we need a leaders sticky in the first place, as well. Sure, you can look up the list to see what leader is to which nation, but it doesn't exactly get you anywhere when it comes to RP'ing anything. I can see it getting into a thread that's already a sticky, but I don't see the importance of it.

The concept of a Leader sticky predates the foundation of NSwiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/), which I find so much more useful anyway. Putting your nation's or leader's wiki page in your sig allows you to have not just a name, but a linked and referenced bio. What's more, it doesn't need a dedicated person like Crazed Marines or Northrop-Grumann to maintain it, as anyone can update their own page anytime.
As an NSwiki sysop, I freely admit my bias and state that this is not a NationStates Moderation ruling, but really - why not use the resource? Yeah, it's an unofficial resource, and yeah, it's on a player-owned site ... but some things just don't work as well as forum threads as they do wiki pages. Sometimes you just have to recognize the obvious.

If I recall, when I first joined (about 4-6 months befort Jolt), the leaders thread wasn't stickied. Its not totally necessary, we could just link to one in a beginner welcome thread.

I added the link to The Macabees thread to my Emporium of Helpful Threads (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=366979). It may not be a sticky, but some players use it as a reference tool.
