Tutorial Question

I am going to be making a tutorial for those people lucky enough to have gotten a photoshop program which gives them the way to make the waving flag affect like so:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/CustomFlags/Scoyle-Flag.gif
This Flag is the sole property of me and me alone that means no ripping.
BTW Scoyle is my main nation never loged off of Baharr Whoops

I want to know where to put it, also would there be any chance of this getting a sticky or do you guys want more tutorials to put into a big sticky?

2 things...

1) Fris says all the time that there are only 32 topic slots on the main page. Each sticky takes up one. So in otherwords, most things wont be stickied. To quazi-quote (if I remember right) "If a topic is not popular to stay on the front on its own, it wouldn't need a sticky anyway." Maybe you'll get listed on a stickied topic?

2) I dont see the flag waving...

With apologies to Fris for stealing his words, I'm going to say that I could make a moderately strong cases for either "Gameplay" or "Technical", both because this has a particular intended application to NationStates flags.

I'm going ot say "Technical". Animations take up more memory than static images of the same resolution and you do have to remain under the 6 kilobyte limit.

I am going to concur with Fris on the "No sticky" judgment. The best that will happen is that it will get listed in the Scolo's Big Tech Sticky List (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=276289) (and even that much is not guaranteed).

Even if you don't get a sticky, there are several groups that have flag making services on their regional forums (the East Pacific and Lemuria both come to mind). You might want to offer your services to these regions as well. :)

I am fairly sure you are correct. I believe some of my puppets' flags are 9-ish kilobytes, and they uploaded fine.

You are correct...Unless NS is lying when you get the message that says it's greater than the allowed 10kb

Baharr, a tutorial on this subject (stickied or no) would be great. I've only made one waving flag and I had to do each of the images by hand. Knowing how to easily template the effect would make my day. :)
