Problems with Puppets

I can't decide if this goes in Technical or Moderation, but seeing as I'd like some Mod action I'm placing it here.

I recently made a puppet for experimenting with regions. It was named "Plas", an insignifigant little country I'd rather leave for dead. The problem is, it likes coming back to haunt me.

The first thing I did when the puppet was created is turn off the auto-login. Standard thing to do for a puppet you plan to have die. ANYway, I thought that was a non-issue, completed my task of regional experimentation, and left it for dead. The problem is whenever I leave my NationStates page idle for too long, it reverts back to logging on as Plas instead of the regular "Log on again" screen, which gets annoying because the menu bar also disappears, making me have to reload the main page if I want to log off by re-typing the URL. I've toggled the autologin on and off several times with no effect, and right now I think the only sure-fire way to fix the problem is to delete the nation of "Plas".

There might be a bug that the mods could fix, but in all honesty even if the nation was restored to working order I'd just leave it to die anyway, so why not speed up the process and free some space on the server now rather than later?

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Random tangent: why not? I've seen this policy before, and I've puzzled as to why it exists.

I figured it'd be a cookie issue, thanks for answering my main question. :)

i belive the reason mods dont delete on request is incase it is a hacker, hacked into thier nation.

i had an auto log in problem too, just set it (on all your nations) to NO , then press refresh loads of times, log out and in a couple of times on your main nation, then set it to YES.

another thing to try... are you accessing nationstates through the 'favorites?' if so, delete that link. and any Nationstates cookie. then cold boot the pc. Google Nationstates and see if it comes up with the login screen... if so, then replace into favorites.

If you using Netscape you can go to tools. Then password manager. Look up your puppet and delete it. Then you should have no more problems. Works for Netscape, Mozilla, and other browsers that based off of Netscape, including Firefox.
For IE, I think it logs you into your last created nation unless you turn off auto log in. I fixed this with mine by giving the puppets away and having the people change the passwords. It worked for me.

Log into the offending nation from a computer that you otherwise never use. Change the password.

When you go back to your own computer, it can't log you into the offending nation because it doesn't have the password to do so.
