Jamum's ban!

Bulgers

I have come to complain about the mod Frisbeeteria who seems in my view to of banned a player unfairly for this

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=410765

kids with pillows being sent sounds like a joke that jamum tired of and left but when Frisbeeteria looked at this he banned jamum and none of the others who joined in.

then there is this that I posted in
http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8645670#post8645670

I also forgot to state that the puppet was one of Jamum's enemies which would of given him an excuse to type anything incriminating

This was not the first time Jamun had participated in, and been warned for, n00b wars with OOC threats and flaming. The forumban was for accumulated offenses, not just that thread.

Jamum was deleted for posting past forumban with Huton and making death threats. This was not an idle and capricious decision, it was made in consultation with three Game Mods, all of whom agreed. The fact that I posted the results is irrelevant. The fact that he might have done so because an enemy posted is irrelevant. Breaking the rules in this manner is not conditional. Jamum will not be restored.

I believe that you can take Fris's word for it, when he says that he consulted 3 other mods.

there is at least one other thread up right now that says he is abusing his power also the other threads don't seem to be too bad none of them where started by Jamum and none of them involved anything more than when Jamum swore at someone who was bullying him (which he still is)

I can start a thread right now, with a poll, saying that Fris is not biased and that you are a troll :P

of course he is biased this thread is going against his decition!

I am not a troll I just feel that the mods should not just delete someone who hasn't done anything wrong also I think that the deletee should be able to defend himself

< Not a mod, and if I was, NS wouldn't be here anymore.

Okay, your friend is forumbanned for a week. He has puppet nations who are owned by the same player. When account A is banned for rule violations do you think it's in any way reasonable to let another nation with the same owner use the forum service in spite of the violations? Just accept he's banned, you aren't responsible for what he did: flaming, threatening, evading forumbans. Drop the case, he was clearly admitting he was Jamum (IP checks aside) beyond ANY doubt.

When aren't people complaining about the moderators 'bias' actions?

Seeing as Frisbeeteria isn't a game moderator, and is a forum moderator, he couldn't have deleted the nation in the other thread you posted in.

Seeing as Frisbeeteria is only doing what his job entails him to, the only reason you're 'out to get him banned' was because he took action against you, a rule breaker.

Frisbeeteria consulted three Game Moderators, all of whom agreed with the ban. You therefore have the opinions of three other Moderators.

Jamum will not be resurrected.

Frisbeeteria is a forum moderator, meaning he can't actually 'delete' nations, but he can get a game moderator to do it.

the forum ban was the problem and on your point he was only telling the other players that he can't rp

The moderation forum is not about debate. The moderation forum is where you ask the moderators for help and/or why they did something they did.

You've already got your answer, four separate mods agree on what was done. There is nothing to debate about.

Disclaimer: I am not a mod.

EDIT:

Yes, it is undemocratic. That's because this is not a democracy.

Damn right it's not. It's not supposed to be.

The mods have only screwed up once in my long memory of NS, and even then it was a mistake they rectified within hours. So apparently this dictatorship of mods is working out fine.

Whatever you do IC'ly is your business; however, you shouldn't be sorry for reporting an evasion of an IP ban. No matter who it was, it was breaking the rules, and he got punished for it.

 I know there are times when you have too tell but this isn’t one of them a player has a ban now and it wasn't that serious I hope you get out of this mentality before someone hurts you in real life! (that’s not a threat Frisbeeteria)

seeing as how you have destroyed Jamum's alliance that we all worked hard for I don't really see a point in you ever talking to me or any of the members again.

I am personally ashamed a angry at your betrayal of friendship I hope you never speak to me again and I hope that there is a hell for peaple like you (personal statement that shows feeling over thinking so I didn't break any rules)

if there ever will be an allience after this you are not welcome

No matter how you try to justify it, "I hope you get out of this mentality before someone hurts you in real life!" is a threat, and " I hope that there is a hell for peaple like you " is flaming. I suggest you reread the terms and conditions you agreed to when you created your nation. Malicious statements are included there.

Bulgers, you are now officially warned for your behavior on this forum. I am telling you clearly right now that if you continue along this line, you are going to earn a forum ban. Stop now.

Random Kingdom, getting booted from this alliance is not the end of the world -- there are plenty of groups out there who obey the rules whom I am sure would be happy to accept you. Check out the Gameplay forum and view the Regional HQ Messageboards of the feeder regions for ideas.

(about this line you speak of) if I am starting to annoy you there is nothing I/you can do it is my right and duty to complain

(if the line is the flame) you can understand I would be a bit ticked off seeing as how instead of informing the alliance told the mods leading to a PR disaster if he would of told us first we could of actually told him what to do we could of told everyone on that thread that Jamum couldn't play thus ns would of kept a popular player

And on the mentality thing that was advice if he would of said the next time he sees a gangster he is going to punch him would my advice be bad look at it this way if someone tells on you for not washing your hands after a wizz you would be annoyed

Not a good idea. My second or third RP with this nation was a n00b war against another nation I owned. It wasn't half bad for a n00b war, either, and the mods that could see the IPs of the nations fighting just sat back and chuckled.

My point is, many nations that started out with n00b wars grow to be powerful and respected, so banning n00b wars isn't the smartest thing to do. Besides, we all can't get RPing right the first time. We can try, but wars are an RP type unique to NationStates, and very few people have pulled them off efficently their first time through.

Bulgers, I say this in the friendliest possible tone I can. It is in your absolute best interest to stop posting in this thread, unless you want a forum ban. I'm for free speach and all that, but you can't piss people off and not expect negative consequences. That goes double for people in positions of authority.

There are all sorts of more acceptable ways of expressing distress or making complaints.

Random Kingdom is not responsible for Jamum's poor behaviour. Jamum is. Please learn what personal accountability is.

You have the ability to voice your opinion, yes. The mods have a responsibility to enforce the rules. If you break them in voicing your opinion, your so-called 'rights' count for exactly zip. We all agreed to follow the rules when we created nations on this game. If you can't handle yourself, the mods can and will take whatever steps they deem necessary, up to and including banning.

I would suggest you go back and read the FAQ (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/04292/page=faq) and especially the part on Ettiquite and the TOS (http://www.nationstates.net/pages/legal.html), to refamiliarize yourself with the concepts and hopefully avoid any further problems that you seem to be having here. Also take note of the 'free speech' bit listed under Ettiquite. I think you'll find it enlightening.

No, this is not a warning. I am not a mod, and it is not my place to say 'do this or you'll get banned'. It's an observation that in this thread already you have recieved a warning, and that perhaps it might be helpful if you read up on a few things that would likely go a long way towards helping you understand How Things Work around here and why your behaviour seems to have been deemed unacceptable.

Best of luck.
