"The point? I agree with many of whittier's points, but the way he makes them is aggressive and deliberately antagonistic. That is extremely childish. If you wish to debate, then debate. It's a world away from ARGUING and trolling - things only reinforces people's false stereotypes about us."

Is that what you all think of me?

Well...since you asked...that would be my basic sentiment as well.

Your Views = Fine
Manner in Which Your Views Are Expressed = Not So Good

That's how I feel about a fair number of posters, actually. :)

There is a reason I am aggressive and antagonistic in political debate. In RL politics politiness and hiding under the pillow don't work. I learned this the hard way. I am mean and nasty to the liberals because the liberals in RL are mean and nasty. If we were to always confer to rules of debate and politness, the Democrats would walk all over us and sell our nation out to Bin Laden.
From my own personal experience in the political world, I have learned that while the conservatives have their faults, the liberals are the most mean, vicious, backstabbing people in the world. They lie, cheat, steal, and forge documents (and in the case of Sandy Berger, they burn unfavorable documents) to get what they want. In the real world, the Democrats do nothing but engage in mudslinging and personal attacks. RL Democrats don't debate according to rules of evidence. They make stuff up and they defame people. The only way to stop them and their agenda is to go on the offensive.
There is nothing nice about real world politics. Its nasty and brutal.
What people are asking is that I just shut up and let sell out liberals sign our nation away to the likes of Bin Laden. And its not just the liberals, its people who claim to be conservative. But you can't be conservative if you keep your head buried in the sand. You have to speak out and you must be aggressive. Otherwise evil will prevail. There was a fellow in the 20th century who once said, "Those who hide or ignore evil, in order to maintain peace, are just as guilty as the perpetrators." Peace is not peace unless its a just peace and you can't have a just peace unless you are aggressive and nasty. Political debate is like war. The enemy isn't going to wait for you to put a laser sight on your rifle so you can make sure you are abiding by the rules. They are going to massacre you while you are doing it. Its the same with the democrats, especially liberal democrats. The fact is I have never met a Democrat who has ever told the truth or who never thrown personal insults.
People want peace and calm. But there will be never be peace or calm until evils of extremist liberalism are defeated.
As for not wanting to see arguing. Arguing is THE main point of political debate.
The reason I'm mean and nasty in political debate is because the liberals and the enemies of America are mean and nasty. And it is my duty to take to fight to their territory. This is the only way to defeat them and save America. If people stayed quite and avoided arguing and sought to avoid angering people, and did nothing, Hitler would running Europe right now. Slavery would still be legal in the US and women would have no rights. The Soviet Union would still be a threat to the free world. We would never have landed on the moon. There would be no democracy in Iraq or Aghanistan. Heck, there would be no laws to protect the environment because at the time they were they were proposed, most people were offended at the idea.
If you want to affect change for the better, you have to realize that in order for that change to happen you have to step on few toes and stop worrying about offending people.
There was a time I ran for City Council. Actually I ran twice. I was all with the civility and going by rules of debate and other good stuff. To me its a great ideal. But I found it was and is a lofty and unacheivable ideal. Because while I was going with civility, I was deliberately slandered, and bore witness to the fact that the opposition always twists the facts. And when I was in state politics, I learned that such things were not limited to the Democratic Party. Not only are facts twisted but often they are made up. I personally saw this in the Republican Party. As you probably can figure out from what you know of me on these forums, I didn't stay quite about it. And when they slandered me, you better believe I fought back. I shook things up, pointed out some mistakes in logic, and kicked out of the Republican Party during the 2000 Congressional race. But I stood my ground. Because I'm a stubborn SOB. And because I stood my ground, my expulsion was overturned the next day by the state central committee. And I still get my Republican Party membership cards every year in January. (The card gets you into the party conventions and central committee meetings.) I say it like I see it.
Now people are asking me to run for Senate, though to be honest, I would rather stay in the Army a couple more years. But because I have to wait upon a surgical consultation to see if the army fixed an injury I am suffering from. If not, I may not be able to reenlist but may be medboarded. Not that it matters since I only have 8 months left in the army anyway. You have to stand your ground and most of the time standing your ground isn't enough. You have to go on the offensive. You have to offend in order to affect change.
The reason I'm not nice is because the world isn't nice.

This belongs in General. Seriously, you don't even provide a source anyway? Can we get a lock or a move, please?

I still fail to see what this has to do with NS Moderation. Either way, it doesn't belong here. If you'd like to send me the link, feel free.

Especially since I said it first, :p

It probably does go there. But if it is moved there, you can all sit back and watch while my prediction comes true that all the liberal America haters will precede to flame and slander me.
