I logged on today, or rather tried too, and found my nation did not exist.
My little brother, recently admitted to finding my password, written down
and used it, to threaten a nation of hacking.

This was not me, and my nations pass has been changed!

I BEG for reactivation!

having been lurking (and spamming :p ) here for some time, i doubt they'll give you your nation back, because they have no way of actually verifying if it was or wasn't you..

of course, what do i know, just someone sitting home alone being bored...

I know the founder of globius he goes to my school, in fact he's sitting right beside me
how the hell is he going to hack from a school computer that's so out of date it bearly runs windows 95

I wasn't even in the country to do that...

Additionally, I will make sure nothing like this EVER happens again,
but please - I beg you...

I think the mods will consider it your responsibility to prevent your country from being hacked. Not only that, but it is your responsibility to prevent your brother from using your computer without your permission. You will most likely not get your nation back.

NOTE: I am not a moderator; the opinions expressed here are solely my own.

I doubt you will be restored. Password security is your problem. Never let anyone get your password. There's no way the mods can be sure that it wasn't you, and they don't traditionally accept character witness from other users. I think the mods will tell you to enjoy your new nation and don't let it happen again.

IF:

My password was simple
and my computer was easily accessable

I would Agree, however,

My old password was: (It doesn't matter, I changed it): hAD8Bq

It's unquessable... I protected it in every possable way.

It isn't my fault, and if my account does anything again, I will accept
responcable, but...

I beg you =P

That's a pretty good password. But if your brother found it, then the best password in the world doesn't mean a thing.

They won't give you your account back, but I think they should grant you the benefit of the doubt and, on the understanding that the next infraction = a ban, activate your account for you. Seems like the sensible thing to do, even though your security was lax.

Your password security is your own responsibility. We are not omniscient. We cannot tell how many people are using your computer, or who has accessed it at any particular time.

What we can tell is that someone signed into your nation, when they signed into it, and the threats they purportedly made to another poster.

You need to make sure your brother does not get access to your password again.

I'll ask SalusaSecondus to take a look, as most stolen nation complaints are investigated by him. However, for the most part, password security is your problem. If someone gets your password and logs into NationStates from your computer and breaks the rules, then as far as we are concerned, you broke the rules, not your brother. As a matter of fact, if you and your brother use the same computer, then as far as we are concerned, you two are the same person.

Request denied.
