Seems to be a flamebait

Here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8540982&postcount=6).
Might not be worth much more than a message from a Mod telling the creator of this post to cool it, but still.
Praetonia, do you really think so highly of yourself and your opinion that we needed an entire new thread just to tell us you don't like the Earths?I'm guilty of similar posts like this, and was told that it was "quasiflamebait." I was then advised to be careful. I expect the same thing would apply here, but it depends on whether or not the author of the thread is interested in being offended by it.

Pelep has a highly valid point at the same time. Is he that high up on the food chain that his opinion matters? I mean that would naturally go for all of us though. Are any of us high enough where our opinion matters? That and Praetonia is just inviting flaming, especially from some of the die-hard Earth'ers! Why? Because he's relatively accusing every Earth of being a dope fest. I personally take some offense to that but since I rarely take much seriously IRL, let alone NS, I can laugh at it. However, others out there usually don't.

You raise a good point Layarteb, and that's part of why I just wanted someone to go on there and simply put up a "knock it off" kind of message for the "quasiflamebait."
Personally I read it as a harmless rant which gets the topic out into the open so we can dicuss the gaming issues behind the Earth threads... he's raised his point and it's only reasonable to argue our own point appropriately. If other NSers can't argue their point in a civil manner then they are at fault.

I'll put this first this time

I don't think it's flamebait. The author is asking Praetonia if it was really necessary to create a whole new thread about why he doesn't like the "Earths." Given that the "earth" situation is rather ridiculous, I don't think anyone can punish him for ranting about it, and on the same note I don't think anyone who takes part in the "earth" mess to get in trouble for defending it in the way he did.

I don't see it as flamebait. It's sorta close, but not quite there. I don't even think a 'cut it out' is necessary, as it seems to have been absorbed into the thread without materially affecting it. It's a judgment call, but that's my judgment.
