The Pacific needs to get slapped back into reality.

Here is a telegram from Unlimited.

You have been ejected from The Pacific for violating article 203 of the People's Judicial Code. You can appeal this decision at www.PacificRepublic.tk.

Pacific Delegate,
Unlimited

Here is the article I violated, from their forum.

Section 2: Of Crimes against the Public Decency

201: Objectionable nation name, flag, motto, currency, or animal.

202: Excessively poor grammar.

203: Spamming.

204: Flaming or Trolling.

Now my recruiting nation, Grenvali Recruiter, is on the ban list. Click to see regional controls. (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/50348/page=display_nation/page=region_control/region=the_pacific)

My question, can I be on the banlist? In past instances, offsite forum regulations have not applied to in-game rulings. Since I violated no in-game rules, can you tell Unlimited to stop his excessive bannings? Or better yet, have him clear the banlist so Crazy Girl can have some fun. ;)

They can ban you for spamming in the feeders regardless of whether their regional law says so or not. It's game rules that allows it, and that's all that counts.

Yah, I know he can ban whoever he wants. I was hoping to go with some kind of greifing accusation. If bans every recruiter in The Pacific... well that's a lot of nations.

Oh well. -Glum-

[Edit] Oh I didn't know you quit actively playing! Well I will wish you a belated good luck in the real world.

This is the ruling that you were prosecuted under - made by Interim High Judge Kalikratis and upheld by High Judge John_Ashcroft_Land:

This court is minded therefore to rule the following:

Regional adverts are to be limited to one per 24 hours per region. However in order to minimise disruption the adverts are not to exceed a length of ten (10) lines nor should they contain excessive capital letters, exclamation marks or other frivolous and irrelevant "decoration". All nations contarvening this to be ejected and banned in accordance with Section 1 of Pacific Law.

The Court would like to invite submissions regarding the permited length. The Court also recomends that the Government of the Pacific investigate whether there is a need to revisit Section 1 with a view to including specific law about advertising.

The Court further rules that this judgement is temporary and subject to confirmation by the permanent High Judge when appointed.

Stay inside Pacific law and you can stay inside The Pacific, wander outside it and you'll find yourself paying a visit your comrades in the Rejected Realms. And as I said, you are welcome to appeal your conviction in the courts of the People's Republic if you feel it was unjust.

Perhaps this should be moved to the gameplay forum, as the thought of it being a moderator issue is laughable to say the least.

Have a good day sir.

I knew better than to waste my time appealing to your court. I figured I should take my chances with the moderators.

Unlimited can eject a nation for any reason he pleases. Or no reason at all, if he wishes.

With apologies to my associate Myrth for posting through a lock, I'm going to elaborate a bit: Unlimited is an Internally-Elected Delegate and may keep any particular nation on the banlist as long as he likes. Unlmited is not a Founder and cannot mass-eject natives* (which is kinda hard to do in a feeder region, given the size). However, aside from that one detail (which doesn't apply here), his ejections are legal.

* ...which is an important difference between a Founder and an Internally-Elected Delegate, so I'd be wary about saying "$DELEGATE can eject a nation for any reason he pleases. Or no reason at all, if he wishes," as this is usually a description reserved for Founders. A Founder can eject a nation for any reason; An Internally-Elected Delegate can eject a particular nation for any reason.

Your advertising in a feeder is legal under NationStates rules. His banning you from the region is legal under NationStates rules. NationStates Moderators are not going to get involved.

This topic will remain locked.
