You lock my thread, WTF?
If you read the thread better then you did, that is to say if you read it at all, you will see there is a question in the thread that has nothing to do with the 1000 posts.
What kind of tyranny is this?
Unlock the thread! Now! As far as I know you, the Mod's, have never locked a thread because of this, you even permitt Birthday threads and there is no real difference there if you think about it.

EDIT: Let me guess. you moved my thread because of 'trolling', right? If that is the case then I am sorry but I posted in a haste and did it in General and not here by mistake.

I don't think attackign him like that will get him to unlock the thread.

This is the second time in two hours that a topic has been created in General that belongs in Moderation. If you have a complaint about moderators, bring it here.

For the record, I concur with Cogitation's decision to lock that thread. Posts celebrating postcounts are spam, and asking ego-boost questions such as " what is your oppinion of North Island?" do not mitigate that.

Demanding anything on NationStates is pointless.

Well, freedom of speach is my God given right. You do not haveto like what I say but there you go.
Let me be clear, I am not 'attacking' him.

I still think this is tyranny and I still think this thread should be unlocked because it does no harm. It was not a real question as such just one for fun that is all, you are reading too much into it.

I have seen countless threads that hold the same topic on this forum and you do nothing then, do you guys have a litle group (I am not talking about the MOD group) that one must be in to let it slide?
If this is spam then Birthday threads, appreciation threads, etc. should be locked as fast as mine was.

Note: I am just angry and speaking my mind right now. As far as I know you can not be deleted for speaking your mind in a moral manner on NS. If that is not true then I take all this back.

Well, freedom of speach is my God given right.
Not to put too fine a point on this, but this is a common misconception that needs to be cleared up.

Please reread the NationStates Terms and Conditions (http://www.nationstates.net/pages/legal.html). This site is the private property of Max Barry and Jolt. As far as I know, American Constitutional guarantees of free speech only apply to public property and to your own private property (and that's ignoring the fact that NationStates is not bound by the United States Constitution). You are not granted license to post anything on NationStates unless you choose to abide by those Terms and Conditions.

In short: You have no rights on NationStates except those rights granted to you by NationStates officials.

I am not aware of any specific ruling that declares birthday and appreciation threads to be spam. I vaguely remember there being a ruling that postcount celebrations are spam, but I'm not certain. If I'm mistaken on that point, then I'll unlock the topic.

"civil manner", not "moral manner". That correction made, then yes, you are correct.

First of all, the moderators aren't all-seeing. There is no alarm that turns red and goes off when a similar thread is created (although perhaps, something similar to this can be created? :p ). If you see a thread that is clearly spam, report it in moderation, and they will decide on it.

There is no such group for those people who create threads similar to yours, and get away with it. I know for a fact that someone created a thread in II for their post count, however, they turned it into a roleplay, turning the amount of posts into an approximate number of years that the nation has been around.

Just out of curiosity, if a thread is started to ask such an ego-boost question, is it considered spam?

As a player, I always considered such threads to be a combination of spam and trolling, not to mention plain old "bad taste". Narcissism is not attractive to me.

To my knowledge, there has been no official ruling on the subject, and I'm not making one here.

It's not Ego-Boost or self-glorifying, for all you know I could be talking about North Island in NZ.
I put in that question with no prior thought to what it might lead to.

In a way you could say that is self-glorifying or ego-boost. Your such a good NS'er arent you.

MOD's, I do not agree with your judgement but I want to say that I am sorry for posting the thread.
By no means was it an ego boost, just a general question.
Sorry!! and let this be the end of it!

Duly noted and accepted.

I think it would be a good idea to let this topic stop on a good note. Hence, iLock.
