Your Founder hasn't allowed Delegate access to the Regional Controls. Sorry. You'll have to ask Abolitionists and see if he wants to permit that. Nothing anyone else can do.

That has always annoyed me. This prevents invaders from invading. It is very cheap. Can't there just be always access to regional control? It really ruins an aspect of teh game when founders turn it off.

Precisely why they did it. Not everyone likes the invasion game.

I understand, but people blasphemously proclaim their greatness and threaten to invade you. You invade them and you find they don't have access. happened to me many times and despise it. But anyways, thanks :) for the help.

You could check in advance if delegate has access to regional control. Granted, the founder could change it at any time, but if it's already disabled, going in will be worthless.

Tough luck. That's part of the game's defenses, you don't see many invaders whining about it though. ;)

I'm one of 'em. ITs a cheap defense, but I'm not complaning. Thanks.

thing is, he was not the founder....he invaded "The Old South" a year ago....and caused everyone to leave.....he changed all the settings we had, and now we can't get rid of him now that REAL southerners have the numbers again?

If he refounded the region, he IS the founder. Invaders can't 'become' founders unless a mod installs them, something I consider highly unlikely in this case. The only other way to become a Founder is to found the region.
If he griefed the region a year ago, we might have been able to deal with it then ... but I seriously doubt we would be able to pull up relevant data to resolve a year-old griefing and refounding. It's hard enough to do it 24 hours later.
Moving to Moderation, since this is actually not a technical question anymore.

Remove the trailing space before the ] before use.
For the last two, check out the news page (http://www.nationstates.net/news/2005/02/02/index.html#sal_changes) for the syntax.
I may add alignment tags later, but who knows.
All other code is escaped and simply isn't parsed. Feel free to experiment and see what happens.
Slightly modified post from Sal. Reposting it in one of the stickies for good measure.

Thanks for that! :D, but why dont they allow url tags? :s, it would make it much better to link to your regions forum.

Here's a question: I'm currently the only one in my region. The founder's nation is defunct. Is there anyway I can be put in charge/change settings? Just curious.

I think there's too much potential for abuse.

No. You will have to wait for the current Founder nation to die of inactivity; when that happens, you will automatically have access to Regional Control.
If you want a new Founder, then you will have to evacuate the region and refound.

Cog, I think you misread that. If he's the only one in his region, he can't be the delegate, so he'll never get the controls. His Founder is already dead.
Refounding would be the best answer. Leave your region overnight, and it die as an empty region during update. Be aware that region hawkers (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Region_hawking) may try to make a play for your region name. Not likely, and rude given that you'd be following mod advice, but still possible.

Thanks Fris. I might try it, but it's not that big of a deal, really. I would just like to update the Factbook entry, since the founder that made it is long gone.
Hi,
I was recently elected as Regional Delegate of my region, and the founder has ceased to exist, so I have access to regional control.
However, I'm wondering how to tidy up in the regional message board. It is getting rather crowded...
Is there a way?
Not that I know of.
As I recall it, only the Founder account can clear messages off the R.M.B. ...
Delegates may not clear the R.M.B. that I know of, even if there was spam to be found there. in the event of spam, they ( Delegates ) would need to contact Moderation, most likely via the * Getting Help Page.
* Linked in my sig below ...

http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=region_control/region=REGION_NAME
That's the regional control feed, just pop the region's name in there and you'll know if access is allowed.
