is it possible for me to be (forum) banned for about 3 days (till monday) as i am spending too much time here, and (really) seriously have to do some essays for my degree. pretty please?
thanks :)
ps: no i do not have the self-restraint to simply not come here, plus i need the internet and PC to do the work, so its not as simple as just turning off my pc or unplugging my router...

I think he means he needs to do internet research.
*sits at typewriter* I'd better begin work.

Hmmm.... Google isn't responding. I'll try About.com, they're usually up.

Nothing? Maybe the Yahoo directories will help.

Also down? *sigh* I guess I'll have to wait, then. :( I know! I'll browse NationStates while I wait! :)

Why is nothing coming up?

What, precisely, is amusing about Post #2?
...or did you mean to quote Post #4?

perhaps it's because you're the one dealing with it that doesn't make it funny to you...or maybe we just have different senses of humor...
...but the fact that you had to reply to someone actually asking for a forumban was amusing to me.

I thought it was humorous, also - not knocking the person who said it, it was just - CUTE!!!

Why aren't voluntary bans allowed? There not all that hard to implement (to the extent of my knowledge, from running another off-site forum)? If the person seriously wants it, they can't complain when the come back about being banned. They asked for it, right?
I just don't see why not.
Because if the account has been stolen, what happens when the " real " user comes back the next day to find them-self forum-banned ?
On the whole its just not worth the potential for misuse.
EDIT : I'm also going to go out on a limb and say its something that I would not think Moderation Staff need lumped onto their plate, or this Forum, too.

Correct on both counts: Potential for abuse and added workload.
